Going back to the Nova System. It's just easier, and flat out sounds cleaner than my G-Major setup. All of my effects in one place.

Thanks! I will have my first full band practice with it tonight, but so far I'm really enjoying the simplicity of it. I am really amazed at how much "cleaner" the effects are on the Nova versus the G-Major. It really feels like lifting a blanket off of my tone.

Can you post a pic or link to the other pedalboard setup for comparison? I think I remember it.

So is there anything you don't like about the Nova System?

My old setup was a MIDI controller with a TC G-Major running all of my effects. THe front end pedals are still the same. I was getting some adverse tone effects with the G-Major. Mainly, it attenuated some highs, and I was getting some note "smear."

My main complaint with the Nova System is that when you press one of the preset buttons, it doesn't change the preset or my amp channel (handled via MIDI) until you release the switch. So you have to anticipate the preset change slightly. The other issue that I have is that there is a slight dead space whcn changing presets. Both of these things I believe could be resolved with some progrming on TC's part.

is that the setup you had when we did the Houston Heavy Hitters project Joel?

IS that replacing a G major 2? I have to admit I am "satisfied" with the G Major 2 and I like it but it doesn't blow me away.. also, I don't have a midi pedal board so really it is all manual flicking for me and i would love to have presets controllable at the feet.

Nate, no I was using a G-Major (version 1) when we did the heavy hitters gig.

I don't have the G-Major 2. Mine is the original G-Major unit.

I am able to change channels on my TriAmp via MIDI. So I use either the Nova System or a MIDI controller to change both my amp's channel and my effects patches. This allows me to step on one button to change several things in my setup. I don't like tap dancing during a show.

Can you use the Nova system to send channel change information?
