New Ozzy Guitar World mag is great

I didn’t realize that I’m the last to buy magazines . If like actual sheet music over an iPad . But I’m in the minority I know

Yeah Brother Nick, but 5 other articles and 6 transcriptions are mentioned on the cover, so I think what I said is fair. :dunno:
Ya I know but it’s pretty extensive for the magazine . Usually they don’t go to deep . Articles are usually short now . But they did it like the one days for this one . Last few issues sucked

I see they're still going with picking the most useless songs to tab out. Gee, I wonder why sales dropped over the years. They at least used to have good exclusive articles and decent songs and lessons to learn, now it's just ads and news you can find out from all the forums and industry websites well before the magazine edition is published, and they keep on rehashing old transcriptions from years ago.
There is virtually nothing exclusive you get from paying your money for these mags.

Very cool. I’m ashamed to admit that I am just now getting into Ozzy. Someone here mentioned NRFTW and I went to check it out… blew my head off. Now I can’t stop listening to it. I knew the whole JEL backstory and have watched a few interviews but I’m just scratching the surface on Randy (if you can believe it) and Zakk. It’s always kind of been around me I just never really decided to sit with them. I’ve been in tan-pants rehab for 4 years
No need to be sorry, there's no "right time" to get into any artist, just enjoy it!

I swear those Rolling Stone special editions you see in line at WalMart see me coming a mile away.
Ive purchased the Grateful Dead, Phish and Ed VanHalen editions.

All eras are great but when I heard No More Tears I had that shit on repeat for a solid 6 months 😆

If this is the GW that has the JIMI BELL interview, check him out, in case you don't know about him.. Zakk Wylde got the job but he was very close. I've lost touch with his many projects over the years, but I know he's in a Deep Purple tribute act, and has played for Autograph, House of Lords, etc. What's neat for me though, being old, he was 1 of the first circuit Bar-Band guys I remember playing up here in VT when I started going out at 18 to watch the amazing bands. He's got the fastest right hand around, and playing is always amazingly tasty. CT had produced some amazing guitarists like he and Doug Blair and Joe Caron, etc

@VonBonfire is going to getting that Mag...

Not for the Ozzy crap, but for the PRS SE NF53 review....

The whole damn world is catching on to the Neo Soul Rig Talk Fever

I love a good PRS review but I don't think I've bought a guitar magazine since 1999-2000.

The whole forum has definitely caught the Neo Soul fever save for one member who I think is suffering from the brown bottle flu during the overnight hours.

Ya I got some of those too . Van Halen one rules

Except now they have 1/3 the number of pages and are 5 times the price they used to be.
But the whole year for 12 issues is $21.99 . You can order a single issue for $10 . But it’s cheaper to get a sub because they don’t even sell them in stores now . I saw the airport in Denver had them lol
I need magazines or books . I read a lot and the internet just says same shit to you on repeat now . A lot of articles online are copies of wiki pages instead of new ideas on topics . Especially rock music

This is why people hit walls. For me as a psycho practicer there’s much to learn in each issue . And with all the columns it’s a great thing to make sure you can play all styles and things you NEVER heard of . You can grab an issue . And say I’m going to learn all this shit just to get better . And it’s all in a neat package . As a musician this practice is common. Makes you grow as a musician and do things you wouldn’t and I need that. For $22 it makes you grow if you actually play the mag front to back . It’s how I got into jazz .

Just looked up Jimi Bell, wow what a player! Love his style for sure and so clean 👌🏼

I still think Zakk was equally as good a choice though and his solos on No Rest... are the proof; some of his best playing and riffing!

I still buy them from time to time , I'll probably head over to Barnes & Noble and pick this up on your recommendation . I see there`s a Mick Ralphs article , nice to see that
