i havent played blackout in years, i had them in a few guitars but i ended up putting emgs in those guitars because i liked them better.
from what i can remember the blackouts had a bigger lowend and had a passive vibe mixed in, they are differnet.
the hets bridge is alot like a emg 81 but with slightly bigger lows and clearer lows, i think the highs are a little rounder and smoother, slightly less compressed,
the neck pu sounds nice for cleans and intros like fade to black and sanitarium styles, its smooth and warm for leads.
they are nice pickups but not that much different than the other emgs, if your a emg 81 fan i think you will like them.
if you hate emgs dont bother buying them.
they arent that much more than the other emgs and the black chrome covers look pretty cool, so if your happy with emgs i think they are worth the money.
i was playing in drop d last night and they sounded pretty good.
