4 new JP-2C demo clips just posted by Mesa on YouTube (Clean, Crunch, Solo & Shred Mode). I've only watched the Shred Mode clip so far, but the tones are far superior to that of the original official demo (IMHO).

Clean:

Crunch:

Solo:

Shred Mode:

Edit

But wait, there's more (tone's a little too scooped for my taste, but still sounds better than the original demo - IMHO):

Wheres da haunting midz ... ?

Sounds awesome! Granted, I just traded for an original Mark II C+, so I'm biased. :)

Sounds awesome. Thick, rich and 3D sounding. Just like my 2C+.

It does sound good. The shred mode hurt my ears at least through the head phones I'm using (something with the high frequency content was no bueno), but I wouldn't have to use it.

But wow that was not "crunch." But was gainy metal stuff. Can this actually do a milder OD style crunch? Obviously it won't sound like a Marshall 2203/2204, but can it pull off something in the realm of lower OD?

I really need to demo one of these. I would like to know how it handles lower gain as well. Sounds better than most other demos in these videos so far.

John is quitting music to take a role in the show "Vikings".

Fizzy. Pretty much sounds like a Mesa. I like it better than the Mark V.

All of those sounds were glorious to me. I may have to looking getting one of these.

I think you can get a Mark IV to sound like any of those tones, but it's just not as versatile.

Here he is in 2007 with Mark IV's.

^^^ the MKIV rig sounds really good too. I really wish I could justify buying this new Petrucci amp, but it a bit much for the couch warrior I am now. Already have way too many 50/100 watt amps that I continually fight to pad the volume down so I can rock the living room while watching TV, while I slowly morph into a giant sperm whale.

Hate to say it but a way to get a rig sounding like that into a small room at home is probably with the Fractal Ax8 and a couple of wedges. Even with my Mark IV it's hard to use much volume when I have 2 daughters sleeping a few rooms away.

I finally played on one. This is the easiest Mesa to dial in and it sounds glorious! I am ordering it custom to match my Friedman cab.

I just watched the crunch one. Tone is not for me. Pretty congested

I am in the same boat. However, I have found that the JP-2C really sounds great at lower volumes. The volume pots have a nice useable taper to them.

Maybe it's just JP's settings or something but I'm not a fan of any of those JP-2C clips tonally. Just doesn't have that signature Mesa Mark series grinding lead/rhythm tone IMO.

The Mark IV video sounds so much better and IMO much more alive sounding. In real life the Mark IV's are awesome. Maybe the JP-2C's are better in person also but I'm not getting that through any of the videos I have seen so far.

Used the JP2C for my last three gigs and its been great. Very happy with it.
