Well folks. I believe this pedal lives up to the hype. I am playing it through a port city pearl which is super clean. The pedal sounds like a cranked plexi should be. The gain knob has very good sweep. With higher output pickups you could easily get into high gain territory. Most importantly. It sounds real. Doesn't feel like I'm playing a pedal at all. I highly advise not to use a bright switch with this at all. This is my first time with Carl Martin and so far it's killer! It's worth trying out!

I had one of the original Plexitone's and thought the pedal had a somewhat harsh top end, I had to set the tone pot around 9-10 o'clock. What's your feeling on this and where about are you setting the tone pot.
Thanks

I wouldn't say it was harsh. I was playing with a Les Paul with paf clones. I didn't find it overly bright. I had the tone knob around noon. I'll play around with it more and let ya know

Thanks for the update. Although you may have just cost me some money. I try and wait for the honeymoon period to end-then (regardless of how good/bad it actually is) they'll be a bunch on the tgp emporium.

Glad you are digging it though.

Well see how long It lasts for me haha. I really like it so far. Just really natural. Makes me interested in the single channel ac tone aswell.

I'm STILL waiting on mine.

 You have an arsenal of hot rodded plexi's. What's your plans for this? I didn't think you owned any clean amps.

I've had two of the original PTs and it's very amp specific as to dialing it in. I found my first one pretty harsh into my Twin Reverb RI at the time. But my current one running into a Straub 6L6 head (think Blackface) sounds awesome. Did some extensive A/B'ing of that versus my DSL50 tonight and the PT-Straub combo definitely sounds huge and retains more note articulation than the Marshall.

Btw... looking forward to your LickLiter showing-up tomorrow. Always look forward to seeing the brown truck driver on NADs.

Just played it this morning at church. such a great sounding pedal!

I had the original Carl Martin PT running through my Mesa Mk III and it was great. Nice boost also but not like the Creation Audio Labs MK4.23 Boost

Happy new pedal day.

With the amount of gain that a Mark III has how did you set the Plexitone? Because that thing has boatloads of gain. I tried the Plexitone with an Electra Dyne and it sound like Niagra Falls. :D

On the clean channel using the PT for more of the Marshall flav. Not a huge amount of gain, more for a crunch classic rock tone. It was also before I did the R2 mod and I only used ch1 and ch3.
