New Soldano Astro 20 Incoming - Traded in my Friedman Pink Taco V2

I had to go back to GC and try the Soldano Astro 20 again.
The last time I tried it was when I went to demo the Friedman Pink Taco V2 and I remember the Friedman sounded better, but what I didn't realize was how to use the Soldano channels and galaxies.
I ended up ordering the Friedman Pink Taco V2 Head and 1x12 cabinet.

Lately I have come to the realization that out of my 3 Friedmans (Little Sister, JEL-20, and Pink Taco V2) the Pink Taco is the least versatile.
The Little Sister sounds the best, the JEL-20 has two channel flexibility, but the Pink Taco is just not as versatile as the other two.

So today I went back to GC and tried the Soldano again now that I have watched many videos on how to use it.
It is a much clearer amp than the Friedman Pink Taco V2 which is very mid heavy, plus it has so many different tones available from clean cleans to all out gain and everything in between. It should give me many different tones to work with.

They only had a demo in stock and no box which I didn't want, so they ordered me a brand new one for the same price as the demo which should arrive in 3-5 business days.
With my Trade-in of my Friedman I ended up out of pocket for $1057 after taxes, not too bad.
I took a bit of a hit on the Friedman, but that is how this game works.

Can't wait for the Soldano to arrive so I can do some demos.
I plan on running it thought the Friedman PT112 cab.

The new Astro's do sound quite good and alot of usable features! I found these videos not long ago and thought they sounded pretty killer!

Congrats....

I’ve been super interested in this amp. I don’t really go for the “SLO” sound but I imagine it can do a lot more. Plus I’m a sucker for anything with a nice IR loader in it

I hear it comes very close to the SLO sound, but it also does many other tones, even Marshall type crunch.
We will see soon enough.
I will post up some demo vids.

No endorsement I played/tried many many amps and Soldano does it for me I’m assuming many others

A 20 watt metal amp? I guess this is the moment the tan pants metal militia has arrived. A little too much ear pampering if you ask me but since we are talking low watt high dollar premium boutique gear I'm going to page @SmuggNorris . Dude would probably love to plug a Private Reserve into that puppy.

I don't consider it a metal amp, it does so much more.
My next amp will likely be a SLO 30, don't need more power than that.
I rarely play at over 85dB, more in the 75-80dB range, so I don't need more power.
No tan pants, just Grunt Style T-shirts and black cargo pants to hold my spare magazines.

The Soldano SLO 30 watt is a fantastic amp I like the SLO 100 watt due to much more headroom,I friend of bought the SLO 30 watt and he wished he bought the SLO 100
