New song i'm working on...whaddya think?

Heres a rough mix of a first song to an album that me and my keyboard player are doing. Only thing left to do is the crazy trade off solos between keys and guitar...shred fest...and me to double the last keyboard solo a third down. What would you classify this type of song? I'll get up a recording when its down next week...after all the crazy arpeggios and shredding is down....I start it off mellow but the wank fest is too come lol. Let me know what you think...Im open to constructive criticism

The rhythm tracks is an Orange Rocker 30 and the leads and fills are my Fortin Jose played on my Suhr Modern

The only issue I would have right now is with the mix ( I know you said it's the rough mix )

There seems to be a ton of stuff piling up in the midrange with the vox, guitar, and keys and cymbals all competing for the same space. The vox are getting burried. With everything going on, this is going to be a challenging mix to get space for all the elements. I'm also noticing a lack of bottom end. ( I'm listening to the track in a treated room with Genelec monitoring)

Compositionally and playing wise, I think it's very creative.

Looking forward to hearing the next mix.

Hey thanks for the input Yeah its just a rough mix so I can compose the remaining solos...its far from being done. We'll get the final mix and mastering done later...I got a guy that has great ears and equipment to get this finalized when its done. There is a lot of shit going on there lol

Wow this is pretty awesome. Not sure what I would classify it as. Queen met Muse and arm wrestled the Foo Fighters. My only critique would be the vocals sound a little too much like Muse. Some parts it sounds exactly like him but I really like the song. Super creative and I could rock out to this stuff. I'm pretty picky with my music too but yeah, great job. Curious to hear more.

Thanks man...yeah it not the classic rock type vox Im used to either but I think he does a good job for being a keyboard player and not a singer and thank god it isn't me...you would really cringe lol

Thats ez drummer and hold your ripping player comment until I have to lay down the technical parts in a few days...will be challenging to say the least...it will be hard to keep up with the keys...hes so clean and fast on the runs. My first intro solo was just improvised and I tried to keep it simple, singing and melodic. A setup for more crazier things to come with the trade offs we are going to do later.
