Got this new Stratocaster a few months ago and had an idea of what I wanted to do with it. Got a new pickguard from Warmoth. Got a Suhr Aldrich, Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder (aware of this pickup for years but never knew how incredible it sounded), low friction 500k volume knob, three pickup selector. All the plastic is new. Blacked out. Decided to go with the standard three Fender knob control layout so it would be the same as my other Stratocasters.
I'm really impressed with the quality of this thing. Seems like details are much better on these Fenders than they have been. The rosewood is VERY dark. Almost has an ebony look. Very cool! Sounds incredible. Huge, fat and warm with just enough slice.
Also notice in the third pic, the Jazz sized pick. You guys have really screwed up my picking with these "what picks do you use" threads. In a good way. I LOVE the Jazz III size, but need the Dunlop non-slip material. My chugging chops have really increased with these picks. It's a whole new approach, but I'm really getting used to it and a standard size pick feels like way too much material and awkward now. I love these things,
Just sharing my excitement.

Nice axe. I have always set up my guards with a 1 hum and 1 single. No need for anything else.

I have middle pickups in all my Stratocasters, but I drop them down and never use them. I don't like that tone.
I did another Stratocaster like this a few months ago. It has an Aldrich and Dimarzio Pro Track. I bought a new pickguard and left the middle in. I shouldn't have done that, but......
By the way, I don't like the Pro Track. First chance I get I'm replacing it with the Quarter Pounder!

Im a fan of this thread.

By the way, sorry about busting on you a few weeks ago. I was just being as ass. I think it was late at night. I was tired.
I meant nothing.

Very nice. 2012 American Standard?

I LOVE the new satin finished cherry American Standards with the ash bodies. KILLA!!! :rawk:

Nice I bet that guitar rocks! Why only two pickups

I have 4 other Stratocasters with three (3) singles (stacked humbuckers at bridge. Dimarzio Injectors and VV Heavy Blues).

Read above. Don't care for middle Stratocaster pickups.

And yes, this guitar rocks. I've been killing it all day with my Mesa Triple Rec boosted with a Fulldrive Mosfet. Chunky. :rawk:

New to me. I think it's a 2010 - 2011. American Standard. I prefer the thinner finish on the newer Strats. Very nice. Resonates like crazy. Sustains for days. The Aldrich helps of course. It's powerful.

The fretwork is much better on these things.

There's a lot of love in this room, men.

Looks great man!! That's right up my alley for sure!

Looks like you're gonna need to be shoveling a coupla tons of granite soon. Go with the 1", that 3/8 minus gets ground into the dirt too fast!

Yes, I know it's overdue. The whole back yard needs some landscaping.

Very nice looking guitar, new aldrich pickup user here and I'm really liking it.

Totally cool Strat. I'd rock that as is!
I need to get my HSS Highway1 worked on and rock ready.
I like the white & black look too!!!!!

Thanks guys!

By the way, the bridge is locked down. Never use them. I prefer to bend necks for dives.
