Got this new Stratocaster a few months ago and had an idea of what I wanted to do with it. Got a new pickguard from Warmoth. Got a Suhr Aldrich, Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder (aware of this pickup for years but never knew how incredible it sounded), low friction 500k volume knob, three pickup selector. All the plastic is new. Blacked out. Decided to go with the standard three Fender knob control layout so it would be the same as my other Stratocasters.
I'm really impressed with the quality of this thing. Seems like details are much better on these Fenders than they have been. The rosewood is VERY dark. Almost has an ebony look. Very cool! Sounds incredible. Huge, fat and warm with just enough slice.
Also notice in the third pic, the Jazz sized pick. You guys have really screwed up my picking with these "what picks do you use" threads. In a good way. I LOVE the Jazz III size, but need the Dunlop non-slip material. My chugging chops have really increased with these picks. It's a whole new approach, but I'm really getting used to it and a standard size pick feels like way too much material and awkward now. I love these things,
Just sharing my excitement.
