Man, he just refuses to do a tubes up model- other than the handwired models.... I wonder why

I LOVE this. Super cool redesign. Suhr never stops improving so Im sure it sounds just as amazing. Can't wait to demo one of these.

I kind of like the looks of the original design from a first glance point of view.

I am sure that it sounds killer though.

not that it really matters, but why is it still tubes-down?

Ok, so-

The new PT you see here is an exact duplicate of my Frankenstein modded PT road amp, with all the tweaks and mods that we've made over the last 4 years or so.
-revoiced channels that sound INCREDIBLE. I'll put it up against any channel switcher out there- it is unreal, tonally
-different filtering (more like an old plexi)
- new output transformer (once again, plexi)
-brand new design MOSFET boost circuit, works on ch1 2 and 3, stays tight while adding gain/harmonics/grind, feels and sounds totally organic and awesome
-MIDI switching with a brand new foot switch
-new matching deep 2-12" cab- sounds huge, tight, and ballsy, rivals a greenback loaded 4-12" in volume and punch. Loaded with Celestion H magnet Creambacks (75w)

The reason that we did this amp- my road amp sounded so damn good, we thought, why not! Why do tubes up, different layout, etc etc. it can change the tone when you do all that, then it'd be possibly back to the drawing board.

When you play it- you'll see. It is badass. The best American clean, Brit dirt amp on the market. IMHO

Oh- think vintage ampeg, as far as what it gives a nod to, looks-wise :) that was what I saw, it was unintentional but the first time I saw it I was like hmm, sort of reminiscent of a V4!

Its the one down fall of the PT's.
Wether Custom Audio or Suhr, they look cheap and ugly compared to most other uber expensive amps.

They Got the Badger series to look great, not sure what gives with the PT's

I dig it. Something different. There are enough plexi look alikes already.

I think of all the gear Whores on RT, if I can get Jeanie to blink and make someone's gear my own it would be Superunknown's.

Then my second wish would be to jump Jeanie's bones when I was in puberty back in the 70's.

Suhr products, whats not to like ? :gethim:

FWIW I kinda like my crappy 70's JMP Marshall.

That Ampeg looks cool. I don't see a meaningful similarity to the new PT. Sorry. It looks like that MG. doesn't really matter, but not an attractive amp.

Not to change the subject, but those V4 4x12 cabs are absolutely awesome...much bigger sounding than any other that I've ever owned/tried.
