New Suhr PT100

I never got all the criticism of the Suhr logo? It doesn't look like a Marshal or the dozens of amps made to look like them, but I don't think it's an unattractive amp. Also, what's the obsession with tubes up? What about Mesa?

Proper pics and vid will be up soon, this afternoon I'm told... hard for you to see in a bad cell pic but the anodized panel, carbon fiber tolex, etc are really cool.

MOSFET?? Like a built in boost pedal (YJM style)?

I have a PT100 Marshall - wonder if some of the newer improvements can be retro-fitted!?

It's listed now and it looks like it is limited to 50 sets of heads and cabs.

For how much I 'want' to love this amp... it really doesn't overly impress me. Im sure many, many more clips will surface and I'll know more then...but from what Ive heard.. it sounds so very similar to the original... a bit more pushed vintage but not all that different. The fact that the controls and layout are the same....and the power and standby are STILL located on back... that bugs me. Just seems they kept the same chassis and tweaked a few things circuitry/filter wise, added midi,, etc... not the 'feeling' I was hoping for after waiting so long to hear the improvements that have been hinted at for some time now. I still think John and the Suhr clan make damn, damn good gear...

Just my .02. Cheers

Looking forward to hearing and reading the reviews.

Just checked the website, I looked at the pics on the site and it definatly looks a lot better then I first thought. I am curious to hear more and the new changes may make the amp killer, the $4400 + price tag is a bit much though or is that not the street price maybe

I owned a PT-100 a few years ago and really liked it. I would be interested but $4400 is a bit to rich for my blood! I have been waiting for the new redesigned amp bit was hoping for more. I have much respect for Pete and suhr the the 50 will sell no problem.

While that clip does sound substantially different from the original it's hard to tell how much of it was the strat. I'd love to hear more with a super strat or lp type guitar.

We've been waiting at least 2, maybe 3 years for a redesigned PT100. I thought we were waiting for a complete redesign of the amp? And the new model is simply on the chassis of the old amp (no tubes-up?).

Seems like a long time to wait for MIDI, Mosfet, revoicing, and different aesthetics. I muchhhhh prefer the look of the old CAA amps over this. I will definitely pass on this one.

If you read on Suhr.com I do believe
$4400 is for the head and 2x12.
Limited 50 "units".

I see the old style CAA PT100 is off the site.

You'll notice the Strat has a humbucker - making it a "super" Strat (although any guitar Pete gets his hands on becomes a super)!

I have to think after the Ltd run of 50, there will be a production run, maybe minus the Peter Thorn signature plate, etc?
