New Whitesnake video/single

The tune started with a smokin' riff that had real potential, but that chorus pussed out.
Coverdale's voice was solid. Hopefully he can still bring it live.
Very Sykes-esque solo.
Pole dancing is always a plus

1-10 scale, solid 7

R~

solo intro and exit totally sounded like Reb. The chorus exit doubler sound is from the Vai days to me! Maybe a 6?

Cool song! Sounds very much like a mix of early Whitesnake and Burning Rain (Aldrich's other band).

Doug's playing sounds excellent, shame that Reb isn't in the video more though!

They definitely avoided Reb like the plague. Horrible video. If I was Reb I'd be pissed.

Yeah, i was thinking the same thing.

Loved the solo btw.

Aldrich and strippers gets my thumbs up!

Great tone...cool opening riff, boring song...

Am I the only one that thinks it sounds like Doug is playing an overdrive pedal through a bass amp? I like thick tones I swear, but his tones on the last Whitesnake and now this sound like the mic that was on his cab fell off the stand and rolled behind some curtains and they kept recording. :)

You are not the only one ;)

I wasn't digging the tone so much, but I love the playing. Sounded too fuzzy for me.

are they all using Suhr amps now instead of just Reb?

It's all Suhr/Golub mods in Doug's rig these days... I much preferred his Cameron tone. The Suhr/Golub tone is not my thing at all.

I thought it sounded great. But I see a striking resemblance.

I think record companies need to start investing in the 80's hair metal sound again. That could comeback BIG if it gets the right promotional push. I'm a bit pissed that pop music trends are ripping off 80's new wave but seem to have ignored any rock n roll aspect the 80's had.

What record compainies :dunno:

I wasn't gonna say anything but.....

Ha! I see David a few times locally every so often. Most recently when he picked up Adrian Vandenberg at the airport when I got back from NAMM. I think that's his wife in the video. I them in Tahoe every so often. Very very cool.

The title is lame and untrue: love, or falling out of it, got me 10 years of outrageously massive alimony payments to make.

No kidding.. Love has burned Coverdale a few times too I'm sure.. by the time he hits 70 (in what 2 years?) his 28 year old hot ass gf will look for the next pogo stick to ride that has a fat wallet.

My only question is, why does Reb Beach never get a lead?? i know he is primarily rythm and he taps an aweful lot but when he goes easy on the tapping he rips it up. I found the solo in this song to have a few too many hammers/pull offs but it was sweet in spots. Just could do without the Dave Murray pull off on slaught!

I like Doug & all, but Reb is far to good a player to be ignored in the shadows.............. Would be cooler if they split solos.

Can't blame the record companies. It's Clearchannel and the lame-assed "classic rock" format. Stations will play "In the Still of the Night" 100 times for every time they play this song. Look back at all the other 80's bands that have released stuff recently, only to be ignored by radio...Ratt, King's X, Megadeth, Scorpions, Winger, Alice in Chains, Lynch Mob. Heck, the latest Metallica and Gun's and Roses wasn't HORRIBLE, but I can't remember hearing one song off either release on local radio.

Radio stations here in Kentucky will never play this new Whitesnake song.

that explains fuzzy and tubby

yeah, I'm so sure all Suhrs are fucking fuzzy and tubby
that's bullshit. What's your beef with Suhr anyway, you always post negative comments about his products...? He's highly regarded here and everywhere else, even if his amps aren't YOUR thing- fuzzy and tubby? Cmon. Maybe you have not tried the right CAA/Suhr amp.

If I was Reb I'd need to be making lotsa dough to be in that situation, honestly... my #1 pet peeve is spending 12 hours making a video, faking you are playing to the same song 100 times and then you get edited right out. Like, just save the $$, don't pay me and I'll stay home that day and actually do something productive... I've actually been flown across the country to do shoots, put up for 2 days, and then you see the vid and you are in it for 3 seconds, haha awesome.
