Acquired this from a fellow rig talk member this week...had it set up and it plays beautifully. Just in time for a gig tomorrow night!

Funny...same here! I never cared for them but now I do.

It's a nice looking guitar...a little relic'd here and there but I like that it looks played.

Plaintops are my favorite. Much prefer over flamed out guitars.

i have it's twin brother, love plain tops, i put a set of Aldriches in mine and it's a fantastic guitar

they came stock with uncovered ceramics so those pickups may be different

Stock pickups are 498R and 500T. They sound great in my classic, never having the urge to swap them out.

Congratulations and HNGD!! The Classics are awesome guitars. My '99 Classic has been one of my best guitars ever. Personally really love the 496R/500T stock pickups in the Classics. Sound great IMO and never had any desire to change them.

Played my first gig last night with the Les Paul. Used it on 8-10 songs and it felt really good playing it. Once I went over to my Sambora ESP after playing the Paul, it was like butter.
