So this followed me home today ?
I want to keep my USA Jacksons pristine so I don't want to gig them any longer.
So I was looking for a 24 fret shred machine that I don't really have to worry about.

there was a reverb seller that was kind of local to me and we negotiated down for an in person cash deal (with case ? )
Very Very light guitar, my first MIM guitar and it definitely feels a couple of steps down from my MIJ Charvels, my Prestiges, and any USA Jackson
So far? not bad, it needs a neck shim, the Floyd is a bit deep in the route for where I like my action, but it hasn't bottomed out, I can still pull up so maybe ok as is , just doesn't look right to me. the 5 way switch feels cheap the 2/4 positions don't click I can't tell what position I'm in unless I really go slow and listen.
Easy enough Fix :)
These pickups sound surprisingly awesome through the Splawn. They split pretty well and since they are slightly scooped and bass "light" they EQ really well with this amp. I was going to pull the pickups right away and put black Suhrs in but it sounds pretty damn good as is, oh and "Dark Amber"? what a joke , they should've named this "Solar" like Jackson names the soloists in this color LOL!
The Neck shape on this thing is killer , a bit thinner than my SoCal but beefier than my RGG657, kind of feels like a soloist neck, so I am loving it !!!
good fret work , tight neck pocket, I think upgrading the hardware could bring this thing to a whole other level.
So I think mission accomplished a somewhat "Mid Tiered" guitar that plays and sounds great, that I got for a bargain, with a case even :)

very classy. for non-shed application, I think the Tribute series G&Ls are great outdoor gig beater guitars. Great guitars for the $

So there is a thread going on over at you know where about Charvel neck profiles being crap.
I don't get that unless it's something new for 2022.
these 3 have very similar neck shapes 2 MIJ one MIM, the build quality on the MIJ's is glaringly better when switching back and forth between them , but I was looking for a 24 fret version of the neck on my White Socal and the DK neck is really very close.
some new pots/switch , push in trem arm and a good set up (fret sprout .... what a shock, and it needs a neck shim)
and it'll be in the gig rotation as of next week :) Still trying to get used to the neck on the Ibby in the back ground, some days I love , others .... not so much, still for sale as of now, that may change though

I've got a DK24 and a So Cal style 2 that I gig with, and for the money, i would be hard pressed to find a better guitar.

Nice! Congrats. Been a Charvel only guy for about 8 yrs now. Had a Hamer USA and an 87 RG550 for the 24 yrs prior. I’ll have to check that thread out. I’ve not owned a MexiCharvel but I hear it’s hit or miss. But, the 25 USAs/MiJ versions from 2008-2011 I owned all had the exact same profile? Now, the 5 originals from 83-85 I owned all varied slightly. But still comfy.

I like your pedalboard! FX8, expression pedal, outboard tuner and MXR 10 band. Very nice!

Congrats man. It is sexy.
I'm usually not a fan of gold hardware but looks good on this git.
Almost a brushed copper look.
Need black pups.
I'm jelly now and have Charvel gas.
Enjoy.

added one of these new "Push in " arms from Floyd rose yesterday , I must say it feels much better than the 1000 series trem arm assemblies.
I usually just get an OFR trem assembly and

replace it but I thought I'd give this a try. so far I quite like it , there is zero play, good fluttering with this thing :)

ya I'm going to see how they sound at next rehearsal, I have a JB/59 (black) on hand, I kind of like black better myself black will make it look like the Jackson solar bursts they put out a few years ago with the gold hardware and black pickups. , but these pickups surprised me, they sound better than I expected them too, so we shall see :)
