So this followed me home today ?
I want to keep my USA Jacksons pristine so I don't want to gig them any longer.
So I was looking for a 24 fret shred machine that I don't really have to worry about.
there was a reverb seller that was kind of local to me and we negotiated down for an in person cash deal (with case ? )
Very Very light guitar, my first MIM guitar and it definitely feels a couple of steps down from my MIJ Charvels, my Prestiges, and any USA Jackson
So far? not bad, it needs a neck shim, the Floyd is a bit deep in the route for where I like my action, but it hasn't bottomed out, I can still pull up so maybe ok as is , just doesn't look right to me. the 5 way switch feels cheap the 2/4 positions don't click I can't tell what position I'm in unless I really go slow and listen.
Easy enough Fix
These pickups sound surprisingly awesome through the Splawn. They split pretty well and since they are slightly scooped and bass "light" they EQ really well with this amp. I was going to pull the pickups right away and put black Suhrs in but it sounds pretty damn good as is, oh and "Dark Amber"? what a joke , they should've named this "Solar" like Jackson names the soloists in this color LOL!
The Neck shape on this thing is killer , a bit thinner than my SoCal but beefier than my RGG657, kind of feels like a soloist neck, so I am loving it !!!
good fret work , tight neck pocket, I think upgrading the hardware could bring this thing to a whole other level.
So I think mission accomplished a somewhat "Mid Tiered" guitar that plays and sounds great, that I got for a bargain, with a case even
