I'm a huge Rico Jr. fan so I recently acquired my second one. These pics were obviously not taken by myself, but much better than what my camera can do so why not. Not everyone digs the radical body shapes but this is his take on a Randy Rhoads Jackson so its not too outlandish. I normally wouldn't order a guitar this ornate, but as I got it off Ebay for well under half price from brand new (due to two dings - doesn't bother me), I can't complain. I think it looks very nice, very metal but classy.

Tone wise this guitar has an insane midrange punch and ridiculous attack but not harsh or spikey at all. No shortage of bottom end power either. Its a very nice compliment to my other Rico which is more Gibson-ish with its shorter scale length and predominantly mahogany construction. I really prefer the neck through construction method as I feel it sits in between the very fat sound of set/glued in neck guitars and the thinner/more articulate bolt on tone. And the playability is exquisite with Bernie's ultra polished frets and a thin neck thats just round enough for comfortable chording.

Anyway, on to the pics !

Buying used is about the only way to actually get one of his guitars it seems, whether you paid a hefty deposit or not :aww:

That looks killer! Bernie Jr seems to make a great guitar.

Wow that is a great looking guitar

Too pretty for metal though :D

Thanks guys and gals :)

It sounds as good as its looks. The pups are limited edition chrome covered EMG 81 & 85. I had ditched the EMGs in my other axes a few years ago but this guitar sounds so good I think they'll stay for quite a while.

Off to play it right now. Bye !
