I've been looking into a semihollow for a while. But every time I looked into a Gibson 335 I just go "HOW MUCH they want for a plywood guitar?" and end up with another Les Paul instead. I was looking at a new Epiphone Lucille but realized that I can get an used Eastman T486 around that price. Nitro finish, Duncan pickups, Gotoh bridge etc.

The previous owner probably took good care of it and it played pretty good. I swapped the Duncan SH1 for a BKP Ragnarok for shits and giggles and was quite surprised that there wasn't any uncontrollable feedback.

Awesome, I’ve wondered about these. I’m always looking at the semihollow Gibsons and Gretsch falcons and so on. I’ve heard for a while that the Eastman stuff is worth considering. Actually I thought this was a cheaper Chinese brand but looks like a lot of their stuff is in the 1k-$2k and even above new??

They are quite well made with nitro finish and brand parts. I wouldn’t pay new price but I think they are pretty good buy if you can find one used.

There's a shop in my town that actually was carrying Eastman stuff, I might have to go see if they still do. These are definitely on my radar now. Their LP-like single cut looks decent too.
