NGD: ESP Eclipse standard II with the old school logo.

They make great axes.
I have an EC1000.
Newer version but same story

Went into GC for strings and came home with it

Hell shit. Thats happened to me more than once. Even with amps

Just happened last month with my tele Ultra ii

Its better for me if i just stay out of GC and just buy online

That's frickin' cool. What's the model number of that one? I don't recall seeing a hard tail RG with a bound neck before?
It’s a 421… as you suspected. It’s getting some chrome DiMarzio PAFs here soon. I’m not keen on the stock pair especially the neck. I play a lot of clean jazz and fusion and it’s strung with flatwounds because I’m neck pup guy.

How do you like it? How's the fretwork?

Those are great pickup sleds.

I love it! It plays like an Ibanez…”fast as polished steel”, super low action without buzzing. I really bought it because it’s light and I’m getting too old for heavy guitars. I’ve had 6 major joint surgery over the last decade and the weight of a lot of my guitars are just too much. The pickups are too hot. I expected they would be, so I was intending since acquisition to replace them. My goto sound is a 59’ PAF bridge and something that sound like Jimmy Page LP neck and Joe Pass when clean. That pretty much covers all of my favorite classic rock and jazz tones, plus this has a 5 way which splits the inner coils to get that Hendrix tone in pos#2, and a variety of humbucker configurations.
