Your pictures actually make it look more attractive than what I saw of it previously. Looks well-made.

Kinda cool.

Does that shape of guitar sound good?
I've never played one.
I've had several stars made from different types of wood, etc., and honestly, they all sounded good. I've had strats that sounded horrible and some that sounded great. This star, with the lightweight basswood body sounds great - tons of sustain and mean... I think the pickup has a lot to do with the aggressive tone...

Steve

I'm not sure what Strats have to do with it, but congrats on the new guitar.

I've owned many more strat style guitars than stars, so, even though all the stars I owned sounded good, my point was just that some will sound good and some will sound bad, just like any other body style. Perhaps that didn't come across clearly because of how I worded it... It all depends on getting a good piece...

looks like Kim Mitchell would love it though! He is a wild wild party! ( another canada shout out)

Who is she? Like the Kim Kardashian of Canada?

No. HE is one of the best guitarists and writers to ever come out of Canada IMO. Look him up, was part of and leader of Max Webster and came up with the Rush boys and I learned of him when they opened for Rush. I opened and closed shows with him when he went solo and he is an awesome guy and very talented, great player/singer. Ever hear the song "Go for a Soda"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwwV0xE70Ks

Sort of the Joe Walsh of Canada actually......

Guy always had awesome guitar tone IMO too!

That link is full of wrong info.

EVH got the body for the B&W Franky in mid 1977 (he used a rosewood neck off a previous Strat he was using) and after playing it with no finish he painted it black and then got the maple neck a few months or so afterwards and did the B&W stripes, just before recording the first album.

EVH got his Ibanez Destroyer in mid/late 1976 and he painted it white and that's how it was for the first album and then after that he did the shark mod to it.
