Summer 1986 I was 15 years old working on Jerome Ave in the Bronx in my parents friends clothing store doing stock.

I saved my entire summer pay to buy my first real guitar.
A Kramer Focus 1000 which is what is in the picture below.

I remember like it was yesterday My sister Tracey went with me to Manny’s on 48th Street cause at the time she worked near Times Square and she even bought be small Gorilla amp cause I didn’t have any money for an amp. (She always took care of her baby brother)
Well a few years later I made a decision it when I was 20 to sell it to buy DJ Equipment since it was making me more money DJing than with a guitar on a stand in my room.

I Wish I never gotten rid of her especially after getting back into playing as an adult.

Well after searching for this particular model which are becoming harder to find several years I finally found her. A little hard ass negotiating and She’s mine.
Still in amazing condition for a 35 year old guitar. Just need to set her up properly, install new strings and the original Floyd Bar I have already and she will be ready to go. I feel like I’m 16 years old again!!

Badass!!! As someone close in age, I can definitely appreciate this post. I always wanted a Charvel or a Kramer back in the day. Those were the two everyone was foaming at the mouth for.

I think I even had that pedal on the floor in the pic. Is that an Arion Distortion?

Yes Sir! It's an Arion Distortion I think it cost me $40 bucks back then. The red pedal was a Treble Booster I found in some record store Harlem for 15 bucks and I bought it.

Man that's a sweet axe! Glad to see the actual people who witnessed the 80's starting to get back into the guitars of that era.

Bring them super strats back in the game!

Love it man! Great story that I can relate to. Congrats.

Cool. Glad you found the one! Congrats

PS: I see you are in IT? What do you do?

That's awesome! I still have my focus 3000. I regret that I chopped it up and stripped it, but it was originally the same color as yours.

Love me some candy apple red superstrat action. Nice one!

When I was 15 I was dreaming about a Washburn Dime Slime. Got one a few years later, sold it a few years ago for stupid profit. No desire to own another. But back then it was THE shit.

Thats cool. I love full circle stories. Did it myself with my '77 F250. Congrats!

Well done and congrats!!!! I remember when I was growing up and the Kramer Baretta came out. I worked for a couple of summers to finally buy one. Miss that guitar!

such cool and ICONIC guitar...
surely it's not the same model number you had is it? or is it? that would be wild...

congrats! it looks to be in great condition.

Man that is awesome. Gotta love the Arion pedal too..I wonder how many of those things they sold over the years.I still have dreams about being reunited with my first real guitar (Ibanez S470FM w/fixed bridge and a XL-500). Maybe someday we will cross paths again...

Nice dude! I can relate sort of. Had a cheap JC Penny mail order Skylark branded guitar as my first. MIJ. Matsumoku build, just loved it. JC Penny released 3 models back in 1980 and I have been slowly trying to collect all three. So far i'm 2 out of 3 ;)
