Damn, 3 guitars in 3 days. Just coincidence on shipping times or mid-life crisis...not sure.
A couple years ago I was in Japan and picked up a white Ibanez PIA. It was great, but I really loved the satin black one they came out with. These are also way cheaper in Japan. Current prices are $3899 in the US, just crazy. But in Japan off Digimart, they are $2460 (with current exchange rate). So I decided to do a swap and took my white one to put on consignment at a local store and ordered a black one off Digimart.
Ordered on Jan 28, arrived February 13.
Ordering off Digimart is pretty easy. Use ZenMarket and for 300 yen (about $1.70) they will buy the guitar, have it shipped to their warehouse in Osaka and then ship to you. All was well, until it hit customs. I spent 3 days going round and round trying til fill out a form for the Lacy Act on what type of wood it was. Anyway, first time I ever had a problem, but it finally came through.
I think this thing is just sexy as hell.
I paid Zenmarket and extra 1000 yen (about $7) to add "reinforcement". It was the best packaging I've ever seen, took 15 minutes to get the guitar out of the packaging.
