I've been on a mission the last several years searching for 24.75" scale super strat guitars. There just aren't that many of them without going custom shop. So 2 days ago I was in a local music store (Atlanta Discount Music, great store) dropping off a few things to put on consignment and decided to look around while I was there. There hanging on the wall was a Charvel Fusion in great shape. I was literally scouring Reverb and sites looking for a Fusion the night before.

It was on consignment for $450, I was like hell yes I'll take it. Spent tonight cleaning and setting it up. Neck was perfect, used a rocker and there were no unleveled frets, actions low and feels great, got a lot of grime off the fretboard, usually I don't mind that if it was "my grime", but it cleaned up nicely.

Came with an SH-4 which sounded ok. Also had 2 Lace Sensors that didn't sound very good to me. I had a BKP Crawler that I picked up here a while back, so I threw that in there and an Air Norton S in the neck and a Tone Zone S in the middle.

I thought for $450 what the hell, but just blown away. Tinted maple neck, love it. Made in Japan between 1989-1991. There are a few swirls under lights, but very few paint chips. The damn thing plays like butter, feels great.

Sweet find! That cutout in the back at the neck joint is a cool feature, never seen that before

My first really good guitar was a 95 Jackson Dinky reverse in this color. Killer guitar that I wish I held onto. Congrats!

My last guitar was a fusion…searched a long time for an affordable 24.75 scale shredder

I love it

Congrats! Those are awesome guitars! Wish they still made them. Bet that Crawler sounds great in there, too. Love that color of blue!

The early 90s USA Jackson Fusions also had this. This Charvel follows the 1986 change up when Charvels became MiJ model series; and all USA builds were Jackson on the headstock.
That's cool, I didn't know that. I've actually never heard of the Jackson Fusion either lol, but I want one now

No locking nut with that string break over the nut? Has to go out of tune no?

Did somebody replace the locknut with a regular nut? I've had 2 Fusion Deluxes and a Fusion Custom; never seen one without a locking nut. All of mine have stayed in tune really well, even with heavy abuse. Those tuners are Gotoh, I believe, and seem to hold up just fine, too. So, you should be just fine with a block trem. That's a Schaller Floyd, if it's the original.

Yes I believe they did. There is a small blank space behind the nut where a locking nut would fit. It is a ~37 year old guitar so no telling the history. But it is in great shape so I think it was well taken care of.
