I had been eyeing this guitar on Reverb for months!!! I have let some pretty sweet Firebirds slip away over the years...and I've been on the hunt for one. I tried to buy back a Korina Heritage firebird that i sold to a dude about 6 years ago...but his price was almost 3X what i sold it to him for....so that was out.
So, this is a 1987 USA Jackson Custom Shop employee build. Confirmed by multiple Jackson experts. Neck-thru construction. Bridge humbucker, slant-single neck, 1 push/pull volume/pickup switch. Original Floyd (non-floating)
The builder made a Gibson style lower wing, instead of the normal Jackson hook style bottom wing. It was originally planned for a neck humbucker but it was filled in and routed for the slant single during construction. The finish is a beautiful cobalt blue metallic. The neck is a 60s slim...ebony board.
This baby plays great! Its sets up nice n low! The bridge pickup is an older Duncan JB and the neck pickup is an older Duncan blade. It sounds incredible! Awesome rock tone and the neck pickup provides a warm, fat bluesy tone!!
