That's a big lower horn on this. It seems to get bigger the more I play it. Where that f-hole come from?

Better than that stupid hotdog one they had out. This would basically be my signature guitar if I cared enough about Kramer. Those that know me know why. Also if you remove the pickup ring, there are 30 complete hearts = Konami Code

Yeah honestly was considering and it looks dope as it has the Kramer USA 85T Bucker designed for Snake Sabo but not much of a 24 fret type of guy....... looks dope as hell though and I imagine it's an amazing player.

May just stick to another 84 in Black or Red........ the new ones made in Indonesia with the nut drilled all the way through the back with back and front matching headstocks and Kramer USA pups, the single bucker models and keep it simple.


The HH models look good but while I dont mind shelling out 1000+ on Chinese Epi Les Pauls I ain't doing that for the 84 HH as they are bolt ons made in China...... for that type of money more comfortable with the Indonesian makes like the regular 84 and Pacer Carrera..... I also don't like the egg shapped routes on the 84 HH Chinese models and the Indonesian routes look cleaner and not as weird. I hope Gibson keeps the low end models made in China and moves away from top end Chinese bolt ons........... it's okay with Epiphone but I don't like it with the Kramers.... maybe those LP Kramers sure but IMO the Indonesian builds are fantastic and it's hard for me to see how the Chinese ones are better for the money and in terms of a bolt on design.


Also aside from more Metallic colors....... maybe polarized Metallic colors..... like on those glasses from the 90s..... or Holographic ones..... maybe make some limited runs with faded stripes...... or just you know....... just more interesting Metallic colors for the 84 Indonesian builds.


What would be cool to do that I may consider doing to my 84 is attaching an additional 3 way switch to expand the single bucker even more. With a push/pull and a 3 way switch you could have parallel and coiled splitting with either the inner or outer coil. So you'd have 4 tonal options bucker, parallel, inner split coil and outer split coil. Maybe add a tone knob...... but overall as is its fantastic and amazing and more than happy.


But that would be cool and three way switch to do that wouldn't be a bad idea in combo with the push/pull...... If they made an H/S 84 Indonesian model it would be even better with that configuration and would make even more sense and it would provide 8-9 different tones..... but yeah definitely considering another Kramer in the near future and probablt another 84 for sure after this one.

And I mean all that shit seems cool on paper and adding another switch and this and that but in essence at its core the 84 isn't just a great Super Strat......


it's just an all around great playing guitar and the less is more mantra it presents just invites one to focus, relax, mellow out, forget about the BS and noise and just play and have fun ^_^
 
While the JB sounds great here and wouldn't let most down and I don't feel it's bad and it's one of my faves........


But here I really want to put a Duncan 78, Pearly Gates +, Alnico Pro ll or a Billy Gibons Haydes Gates Trembucker. Was considering a Slash 2.0 but those things done come in Trembuckers......


Given availability and what I want will probably go for a Duncan 78 out of all the options but I'm really liking the JB in parallel and may just stick with the JB.


It definitely does offer "single coil" like tones or it fools one into it by cutting both coils power in half giving you about 4.3k...... but sounds and behaves more like a traditional PAF and hotter relative to a traditional or your average PAF, bringing some nice chewy mids and harmonics but a bit smoother here that can handle a lot more gain than usual too and the waxed pots help keep noise down further as well...... I wouldnt say its super hot but it can handle a lot of high gain an average PAF wouldn't and chew it out in a vintage flavor with a modern touch.



Parallel configuration with 500K pots help here and since the JB Trem is like 17.4k and pretty hot in series but when you go into parallel it really behaves more like a hotter output PAF at full volume that can handle more gain than usual very very well........ chewy mids, relaxed highs, nice and tight bottom end with ample rounded out tones too and a very balanced low end but with a bright touch and as said good note seperation and air in general....... but yeah those bass notes and bottom end in parallel are very much like a real PAF but a bit hotter than average......


Essentially you get all the fun of a traditional Les Paul in parallel mode that can handle more gain than usual but with the feel of a Strat and the benefits of a FR and locking bridge and nut....... very similar to a Burstbucker 3 that can handle more gain and just a bit warmer and balanced.......


Split like on a Charvel you really just get a hot single coil tone..... which is great dont get me wrong and a bit more balanced IMO than a straight up single coil......


But here while you can get single coil tones in parallel you only really start getting them when you dial back the volume knob to get a kind of hybrid of position 2 and 1 tones on a strat tone wise so smooth and warm spank like a position 2 but with more highs like a position 1 coil. You kind of roll back the volume not just to bring back gain but also to change character this way too of the pup in parallel.....


Honestly finding my self in that push/pull at full volume in parallel position as it's slightly brighter and has more air/note seperation more than not and then busting into series for more warmth, sustain, gain and compression when needed but the JB in parallel offers a lot all ready and pretty much all the benefits of a PAF that can handle a lot more gain than usual and even lower noise thanks to the waxes pots.

One thing I don't understand about parallel configuration is that the DCR gets cut by 75%........ but you get more output than a split bucker that gets cut by 50% DCR in split and gives you around 50% output......



The JB Trembucker is like 17.4K in series and goes down to 4.3K........ but why does it sound like it's a bit more than half that output at like 10-11K, less gain than in series but IMO in parallel the pup sounds a bit more clearer and louder vs in series with more air and note seperation?



Anyone know what the deal is? How come DCR is lower than in split but output is higher vs the same split bucker?


Plan on doing this to one or two of my Charvels in bridge position on the JBs and switch from split to parallel.

This thing is sick, having tried a lot of stuff over the years....... there really isn't a lot of stuff quite like this.......



It's not exactly like an 83 Pacer neck/profile...... available on current production top end Pacers like a Vintage or Carrera....... but that neck is so Kramer and there is something about that type of profile. This and the body is just immaculate..... perfect carves, contours and very deep and smooth......No rolled fingerboards but overall the neck is amazing, the pup is great too and honestly all one needs...... a JB with a push/pull...... 3 piece body on this one and pretty thin paint job too just the way I like it.


Overall that Kramer neck is butter and the K Speed Slim Taper C profile is very unique and well very "Kramer" for a lack of a better term and worth it for that aside from the great body, hardware and pups. Super flat 12 radius maple board makes it that much better. There is a finish on it but it's very light and definitely no heavy Gloss garbage you find on Fenders with glossed necks..... just solid finish and great feeling neck overall that really gets nice and fat and comfy as you go up to the 12th fret...... that C Slim Taper and that Kramer feel.......


Pacer body so less depth than a standard Strat body and slightly thinner but still better feeling than a Dinky IMO or more like a Strat relative to a Dinky or other alternate S-Type bodies.......


Very resonant body...... and compared to mid to late 2010 builds this is just nicer and better overall..... better contours and build...... better feeling neck relative to what they made just 5-10 years ago...... honestly as good as it gets for what your getting...... the whole guitar is also very acousticly rich, vibrant and resonant thanks to the overall build and design...... much nicer feeling wood than what they used not to long ago aside from way better builds especially in the body as these contours and work on the bodies are damn near flawless......


Probably only other guitar that has been this resonant, vibrant, acoustic unplugged consistently or in general is the Paisley Tele Sig.......... taken that from it what you will but it says a lot especially to a guitar that sort of is pretty much a modern version of EVHs Kramer 5150.........



Working on making a Sailor Moon Waifu project for this too using custom decals and will make a seperate thread for that but yeah..... overall these things are sick and well worth the price of admission...... these K Speed Slim Taper C necks are no joke and friggin amazing nvm that slick/smooth body as said!!!!!

I got a chance to get one of these cheap ,same color. I got til friday to make up my mind. Im thinking hard it.

Yeah I have no doubt Chubtones are great but this stuff isnt bad.....

Its just such a lively guitar and always felt reccessed routes were always better......


But tbh the top mount really does make a difference and the light yet still smooth finish on the maple neck is great along with the profile of the neck. Its just butter on butter ^_^
