I sold my old green metallic fly several years ago, really liked the idea behind the guitar, but it just looked horrid with the green paint, and had the original pickups which were relatively low on the output.

This one is a Mahogany body, basswood neck, with the version 2 pickups which are a little hotter, definitely more to my liking since I typically play heavier type stuff. Everything works great on the guitar and its in amazing condition for being a studio guitar for years and being a 2000 model year. Battery was dead when it arrived, swapped it out and it came to life.

I forgot how bright these fly's are, man, I'll definitely have to adjust my amps for this guitar specifically.

Overall extremely happy with this purchase since I've wanted one for years. I've checked out some of the "refined" models after the buyout and just didn't like them. I'm sure some of that is bias, but I can't believe it's all because of a bias. Don't see a whole bunch of these pre refined mahogany fly's out there, I really like the look of the wood versus painted finishes, even stained woods look much better than painted finishes IMO.

Nice, congrats!

I thought about getting a Parker at one point. Someone custom ordered a set of guitars with a Thor theme and was selling them. And one of them seemed kinda cool. But ultimately, I never pulled the trigger for some reason. I wound up going in another direction (Mayones). But I agree, natural/stained wood is just awesome compared to a painted axe.

Man, I have been eyeball sexing some Mayones lately. They are pricey, but look absolutely amazing. I'll likely have another Carvin built since they've been stepping up their game since splitting from Carvin Audio and builfpding under the Kiesel name.

I'm more of an out of the box kind of guy, so this fits right in. The piezo for me is the best part. Sounds amazingly like an acoustic, but is incredibly easy to play!

I had a 1997 Fly Deluxe for over a year that I loved to play, but the pickups just did not sound as good as my Edwards. Parkers were going through a bad spot on the used market when I decided to sell. I ended up trading it straight up for a Gibson Les Paul Studio Platinum which is a wonderful (and also somewhat rare) guitar. I miss the playability of the Fly, but ultimately am happier with where I am now.

I would love to get another Fly with Duncans.

Yeah, this fly is super bright, even with the mahogany body, I'd imagine a spruce body fly would likely pierce your ear drums pretty quick

That's a beauty, congrats!

I also prefer the transparent finishes on Parkers. I have a Parker Fly Classic in transparent red, also one of the pre-refined era guitars.

I'm loving this guitar, the acoustics are amazing for an electric guitar. Now I can do a YouTube review, Steinberger GM4T vs Parker Fly Classic Vs Switch Vibracell, although the Switch is a very distant 3rd it's still an awesome guitar.
