I posted this under the Suhr discussion area, but not sure many people check that area out unless they have a specific question about Suhr. So wanted to post it here too because I love this guitar and there may be some people looking for info on it.

Bought this right before Christmas. Bought new from Humbucker Music. Good service, quick response and worked out a nice little deal for it too.

I was in the market for a nice 7 string and came across this Suhr limited run modern satin 7. This is my first Suhr and although it's not a custom, if I were to build a custom Suhr 7, this would definitely be it. Love it so far. It's really light, but still feels solid and sturdy.

I knew Suhr would be good stuff and I wasn't disappointed. The black satin finish is awesome. It's a little rough, not smooth, but gritty. I can feel the wood and I love that. It reminds me a little bit of the body finish of a Caparison Dellinger HGS that I used to have. It just feels mean when I'm playing it.

Congrats, that's sweet! I've got it's 6-string counterpart, the Black Modern Satin as well as a Natural one. I love those guitars, very resonate and open. Enjoy! :)

it's full sounding, very resonate. Loud without an amp. It definitely resonates. Feels good and mean in your hands. Meaty.
The Suhr pickups sound good too, but I did order a set of BKP Cold Sweats to go in there. CS is my favorite neck pickup in an all mahogany guitar like this and for the first time I decided to try out the CS bridge. I think with the woods and the way the bridge pickup is spaced a little far from the bridge, the CS bridge will fit perfect. But we'll see. It's not really a knock on the Suhr pickups because they do sound good, I just kept thinking how good it would sound with a Painkiller/cold sweat combo (but decided to go all CS).

Nice guitar! I was thinking of getting one but I have too many guitars at the moment LOL. Please report back after the pickup change and your thoughts.
