Been contemplating for a while to pull the trigger on the Gibson Mustaine V, since the shape is my all-time favorite. Prices seemed to have dropped fairly significantly (are these being discontinued?). I would not have paid full retail price for one of these, but it’s super comfortable.

Nice. How do you like it so far? Is it Neck-Heavy?
Really like it. I’ll have to get back to you on being neck heavy later, I was playing last night and can’t recall that (14 hour shifts all week and I just wanted to play). I want to say no, but I’ll be playing again once I’m back home. Don’t quite care for the tuners, I might swap them for locking.

Thrash factor pickups are nice, plenty hot and sounds great thru the VHX.

Thanks or your reply. Regarding the Tuners: While i prefer (the self locking) Gotoh Magnum Locking Tuners i always liked the Grover too. Very reliable.
Let me hear it, when you have time ;)

I don’t feel that it is neck heavy in the slightest. At least with the strap I’m using (I think the D’addario ezlock, not the right one for a V but whatever), it stays very balanced, no dive. Comes with straploks in the case.

I’ll try to record something for you. Will be iPhone when I do, mics are in storage for the next few months.
