Used WG Special...absolutely mint. No scratch s, no swirls, no fingerprints. Nothing.

looks cool! where are these made? is the quality pretty good?

This one is a Mexican made special. So far (1 day old) the quality seems pretty good...Im Satisfied...for a (basically) $800 guitar; that's what I've got in it ($799 actually).

Fit and finish is as good as anything I've ever owned with a peavey WG USA and a Deluxe Strat being the highest quality/most expensive guitars I've ever owned. No swirls or trash in the finish. No bubbles or smears in the urethane. Neck pocket is as tight as you could imagine. It sounds and plays really well, thus far. D-tuna works flawlessly. Fret ends are dressed as they should be.

Thus far, the only complaint is the pup toggle. It's opposite from that of my Peavey WG...and right in the way for tapping and stuff like that. I've got a 30 day trial on it...and likely will keep it...but that toggle has got to change. I'm going to rotate it to a R/L in lieu of U/D.

That toggle switch location is a deal killer for me on getting another WG. I relocated mine to the tone knob hole, since I don't use the tone knob. Also used an Ernie Ball/Bourne toggle switch because they are stiffer not bouncy.

Yeeeaaaaa....the more I play it, the more I hate that friggin switch.

Alright...I suppose I'm that guy... :aww: I'm trying to love this guitar. The switch I can rotate and should be fine but anyone that's owned/owns a Mim WG...do you find the bridge pup muddy, or is it just my ears? I lowered and tilted the pup a bit, it may have helped. :dunno:

I swear I hate being that friggin guy...but damnit man.

Oh, I ditched those pickups too. The ones in my photo are Wolfetone Marshallheads he made especially to fit the Wolfgang.

Dunno what the newer pups are. Mine was MIJ and I never liked those pups. They were muddy. The Wolfetones totally kick ass and are so articulate.

I have a MIJ special, and am not a big fan of the pups. They are bright, and are prone to microphonic feedback. I just have to decide what to put in there. It plays killer though.

Wolfetone makes some great pickups. I have the Dr Vintage in my Les Paul and they are great.

Yea,,,the guitar is so very well made, looks phenomenal....but i just cant get with the tone it's putting out. Now...and maybe you guys tell me i'm an idiot for getting the EVH WG, but for me, the Peavey USA wolfgang is THE standard...sustain, playability, tone, comfort, etc. Notes just bounce off the neck, and it's so chimey...killer axe. if there were a pup that would "turn this into the PV-WG"...then that would be tits!

Didn't care for the pups in my Peavey Wolf either and sold it. IMHO, the EBMM EVH beats them all and handily. No better guitar out there. I have two EBMM EVHs and an Axis Tribute.

I've heard/read that EBMM are really great. Are they arched tops though?? I was under the impression they were all flat tops.

They are not arch tops and the originals don't have belly cuts either.

I remember when the EBMM EVH was released in the 90s. Had a chance to buy one when they launched but at the time didn't have the money. The necks on those guitars are crazy fast and I love the tone. One of these days I'll track one down...

I got my first one used for $900 around 1993, sold it to a buddy in Germany for $1800, which was a very fair price in Germany for those at the time. With that money I bought a faded purple one and later traded it plus $200 to a guy for a turquoise one. So I have $1100 into my blue one. Got my sunburst one on eBay for $1850 two years ago and it's drop dead gorgeous. Will never sell either one.

$900 is a screaming deal on that guitar and awesome job on the resale. I don't blame you for not wanting to sell the ones you've got.

I've read that the EBMM EVH has a problem with fading. Any experience with this issue?

Obviously yes, as the purple one I bought was faded. My blue one has a tiny bit of fading, but it stays out of sunlight since I learned of this issue 18 yrs. ago. The sunburst one has not faded at all. I believe the Axis Tribute have the UV blocked in the finish. Mine is pink and has no fading.
