Santa dropped off the V today - well, I had to chase it down at Fedex but that is another thread. It will take a little time to get reacquainted with a Gibson neck but I really dig it. I haven't played a V in 10 years.

In a Stewie voice, "Who's got too many white guitars?! you! yeah... no, yeah.... you do, uh huh!" ....

Cheers man, enjoy. I immediately imagined cracking a beer and playin one oh' dem fuckers!

I kinda see a pattern there... :)
Congrats on the alien guitar. Btw do those Sambora Kramers play as good as they look?

I love the alarm system motion sensor right in the middle of your guitars.

You haven't played a V in 10 years...what have you been playing then-explorers, LPs...? Maybe, white super-strats...?

In all seriousness though, looks good. White guitars are classy.

Thx, yes they play real nice. I bought one on a whim cause I thought it looked cool and those 2 guitars are going to the grave with me.

My kid is a drummer and has other teenagers over to jam that we do not know. The alarm is a good deterrent. So is my uzi but we won't go there

Nice V, man. Is that an old Yamaha RGX612S I spy in the corner?

    Good eye! It is my brothers, he gave up playing and left it here on permanent loan. I think it could be a good guitar, it just needs some tweaking.

So I restring the V and set the action to where I like it and start playing. After stretching the strings, the G and B strings will not stay in tune. No matter what I do if I strum too hard or bend them at all, time to retune.   After sufficient frustration I called Sam Ash and am returning it. I had an ESP LTD that the neck kept moving around and I spent months going back and forth with the music store as they tried to fix it. This is why for the last 15 years I have only been buying used guitars. Buy a 20+ year old guitar and for the most part what you see is what you get.

While this is a bummer, I have a great family and will enjoy Christmas not worrying about out of tune guitars.

Merry Christmas everyone!

just those 2 strings? I'd suspect they are getting hung up in the nut slot - I'd try a little 3 in 1 oil in the nut slots before sending it back if you really like it.

Likely a new properly cut nut will fix the tuning stability issue.

I had the same problem with my LP. I recently brought it in for a fret manicure and they recut the string slots. Perfect tune all the time now.

Same reason I gave up on Gibson period. Everybody always wants to make excuses for their poor QC, but tell me what other 4k guitar you can buy brand new and it won't stay in tune until you pay MORE money for a tech to put a new nut and/or tuners on it. Not to mention the fact you have to play 10 bad ones just to find 1 or 2 good ones. That's deplorable IMO.
