Santa dropped off the V today - well, I had to chase it down at Fedex but that is another thread. It will take a little time to get reacquainted with a Gibson neck but I really dig it. I haven't played a V in 10 years.

Congrats on the alien guitar. Btw do those Sambora Kramers play as good as they look?

After sufficient frustration I called Sam Ash and am returning it. I had an ESP LTD that the neck kept moving around and I spent months going back and forth with the music store as they tried to fix it. This is why for the last 15 years I have only been buying used guitars. Buy a 20+ year old guitar and for the most part what you see is what you get.
While this is a bummer, I have a great family and will enjoy Christmas not worrying about out of tune guitars.
Merry Christmas everyone!

just those 2 strings? I'd suspect they are getting hung up in the nut slot - I'd try a little 3 in 1 oil in the nut slots before sending it back if you really like it.

Likely a new properly cut nut will fix the tuning stability issue.
I had the same problem with my LP. I recently brought it in for a fret manicure and they recut the string slots. Perfect tune all the time now.metalmaniac93":22ctll4e said:Zachman":22ctll4e said:guitarmike":22ctll4e said:So I restring the V and set the action to where I like it and start playing.
