Do the goldtops of the Peavey and the EBMM still have the Maple cap on the body or are they 100% Basswood?

Arched-top USA Peavey Wolf Standards are maple capped, regardless of color. The Specials are just basswood. Pretty sure all MM Axis guitars have a maple cap too right? Even if they're a solid color?

That is all in line with my understanding.

I hear you. The neck is a bit wider. I assume to accommodate the spacing of the Floyd Rose?
I don't particularly care for the pickups either, but I am so used to almost always pulling out the stock pups in guitars and putting in some boutique hand wound pickup to my liking. Did that on both of my Axcess'.
I also didn't love the Floyd on them and replaced them with Gotoh 1996t trems. The Gotoh is bigger from the front to back of the base plate, which doesn't drop right into the trem route. I took a dremmel and shaved it down/reshaped it. If you aren't right up on the guitar and know to look for it you would never know. Still evaluating if I want to do that with the Wolfgang as I like the Gotoh better than what is stock on the Wolf, but so far its not terrible. I would have to do the same dremmel work due to the same smaller Floyd specific trem route on the Wolf carve top.

I've never swapped or modified the trems on any of Floyd guitars, other than to block or add a D-Tuna. Been meaning to investigate that option (FU Tone, etc.). Need to stop procrastinating.

What pickups did you end up with in your Axcess'?

And...I think you should keep the Peavey and EBMM!

I went through a whole pickup testing experiment about 10 years ago now. A lot of great stuff out there, but for a while I went with Guitarforce. It was Kevin Taylor's shop out of Maryland. I just found the quality to price ratio just couldn't be beat. I honestly never found any I liked more...maybe just the same, but not more. All 3 of my LPs have Superstar sets and I have a Rebelfire set that isn't in anything at the moment.
He unfortunately is no longer in business. If I had to buy new now I would probably go Motor City or Bare Knuckles.

As far as terms, just keep in mind the Gotoh is wider from front to back. If it's going into a recess routed for a Floyd it likely won't fit w/out modifications to the trem or guitar.

Always experimenting here too. That's half the fun. Never heard of Guitarforce, too bad he's no longer in business. Tried Motor City Afwayus and Bare Knuckle Nailbombs years ago when I was looking for something heavier. Great pickups but they ultimately weren't what I was looking for. Planning on trying lower output offerings from both soon. I currently have an Aldrich set in my main LP that are working really well. They sound great coil split and cover a lot of ground if I don't want to switch guitars every other song.

Your Gotoh trem heads-up is duly noted, thanks! I hope my Dremel skills are better than my soldering.

Here are my two VH guitars: Love these badboys!!!

I liked the Motor City Detroiter.

actually not all arch topped wolfgangs were maple capped. the black ones and ivory colored ones were solid basswood bodies. the gold top and seafoam green had maple caps. it is strange I know, but the black and ivory guitars were solid basswood bodies. I can vouch for this being the case as I have had both colors repainted in the past and both were sanded down to bare wood before then and they were indeed solid basswood. peavey did some weird shit with these guitars.

you can find out lots of info on the here: http://rocknrollweekend.com/other.php
