Found these youtube videos. Its not me playing but there are not a lot of videos out there of the nitro so I figured I would post these. I love mine

This explains his equipment to get it out of the way if anyone cares about what else he used he does one clip of this so the other clips are just playing:

Saw these...The thing sounds damn good with the EL34s. Kinda Bognerish, but tighter.

Those mariachi guys sound terrible. Better to drown them out with the Nitro. What a beast of an amp!

Mine has a quikrod mid slope and Mullard EL34s. Sounds incredible. One of the best amps I have ever heard and the cleans are great too. .this one definitely sounds darker than mine. I would like to hear one with the KT88s. No one has gotten one of those yet. Cool videos.

Saw those.....he is a (very) regular on another small guitar forum I visit. Damn good player IMO.

Ya I have not heard a kt-88 clip yet. I have 77's in mine but I want to try EL34's at some point. You know the more time I spend with the amp the more I love it.

What's up guys. The vids are mine. (thanks for the heads up Ryan)

Yeah that mariachi band is awful. They've been playing like the same 2 or 3 songs for almost 2 years out there and they're still just as terrible as they were the first time we heard them.

The nitro is definately a ruthless tool of destruction. I've never heard ANYTHING distort and clip my mic the way that thing did. I've had my mesa and carvins, our singer's Stiletto trident and rythem player's genz benz el diablo pointed straight at that camera and never even come close to wreaking that amount of havoc on the mic. When I got home and listened to the clips I was like :scared:

I tried to play something besides 80's shred and death metal...and managed to get away with it for a while before I gave into temptation. It just sounds so good beating out those huge drop tuned (I was tuned to drop C in those videos) palm mutes I couldn't resist.

And I figured it would be nice to actually hear the amp's clean channel since I don't think anyone has posted that yet. I also use a light overdrive a lot in my playing and since the amp doesn't have independant gain knobs for each level of overdrive (my main complaint with the amp) I use the austin for my light overdrive.

I was skeptical about the amp's ability to play lower gain stuff, blues, classic rock, etc. simply because no one had posted anything with that type of sound coming from the amp so I was pleased to hear it tackle the classic rock and old school marshall crunch quite well. I'm glad it does it sounding like it was actually MADE to be able to do that rather than just simply sounding like a high gain amp being choked to death. I can only assume that the amp's pedigree and origins of its design contribute to this.

I wasn't expecting that thick JTM45 type sound but playing in a band, the clean channel with a generous amount of gain knob and the clean boost offers plenty of that thick low gain stuff.

Speaking of that clean gain, you won't really get much breakup on teh clean channel with the gain dimed at bedroom volume. It's still clean at low volumes but as you raise the volume of the channel, that's when more gain and overdrive is introduced and even at full gain at stage volume, the amp still has a great amount of clarity (Though I got no love from the camera mic on this one). Rolling the clean gain all the way back yields a perfectly crystal clear clean channel that only exhibited a very mild amount of breakup when hitting the strings hard. rolling back the volume knob just a hair though brought it back to totally clean even when aggressive picking is used.

Anyways, the claims that this amp is very loud and incredibly powerful are true. The sound hits your head in a way that it hurts that area deep in your skull. It's like our drummer's snare. It's that sound impact that will distort your vision for a millisecond. If you don't own the stage with one of these, just put down the guitar and give up that hobby.

Hey welcome to the forum. I hope you don't mind me posting the videos here. I was on youtube last night and found them. There are not many nitro videos besides the first set from the splawn gathering last year.

No I don't mind at all. I want them out there for people to see. I'm sure Scott wouldn't mind :) And I'm sure a lot of potential buyers interested in the amp could use some new clips with more info (I know I was!)

Quick rough recording I threw together. No eq'ing or touch up work was done. FX from the nova system. SM57 and E609 mic'ing the tone tubby in my crate combo. 50 watt setting used.

Man! Great clips!

I own a Nitro and those are some crazy setting you have! lol It must be that I'm running mine through a 4x12 but if I had my bass and resonance turned up that high I think it'd kill me and tear down my house!

I wish I had tryed some EL34's in the Nitro I had. The one I had, had KT77's in it. I'm sure I would have liked it a lot more than I did with EL's.

:D I really wanted to like it., and had very high hopes for it. But I was really disapointed. And, I hated it.  I'll have to try yours some time.

Did we ever settle on a date for the amp fest. Oh I know there have been problems with kt-77's in some nitro's. Maybe yours had bad tubes. Just a though, but maybe you will still hate it.

No, I think Vaughn decided to hold it after the 4th of July so people could plan ahead a little more. I'm willing to host one anytime though. But most everybody would have a long drive.

Well, it would really suck if I plugged into another one and it blew me away. But I did check the bias and all that and didn't find a bad tube or anything.

well if it is in July there is two weeks my wife and kids will be gone. So if the date works out it would be the best time for me to have one at my place. Steve moved to Lake Mills now since he is working in Madison. We still don't get together and play.    I want to hear his SE.
