Did we ever settle on a date for the amp fest. Oh I know there have been problems with kt-77's in some nitro's. Maybe yours had bad tubes. Just a though, but maybe you will still hate it.

Well, it would really suck if I plugged into another one and it blew me away. But I did check the bias and all that and didn't find a bad tube or anything.

Maybe its just not your thing.

well if it is in July there is two weeks my wife and kids will be gone. So if the date works out it would be the best time for me to have one at my place. Steve moved to Lake Mills now since he is working in Madison. We still don't get together and play. I want to hear his SE.

I acually want to check out an SE really bad. That would be cool if he could make it.

OD2 w/eden analog austin overdrive used as clean boost. Gain dimed... and the hell of it is, the volume pedal was probably only letting about 30% of the tone through... It only gets meaner, tighter, heavier, etc with more volume pedal.

Fuck! that is crazy! I lowered the gain on my QR by placing a 5751 in it.

haha yeah I've got a few NOS GE 5751's, a mullard 12AT7 and a few other nos 12AX7's... assorted mullards, rca's, etc. That clip was for the metal head savages at harmony central

I wish I had tryed some EL34's in the Nitro I had. The one I had, had KT77's in it. I'm sure I would have liked it a lot more than I did with EL's.

Hated it. Absolutey hated it. Not sure if something was wrong with it, or if I have a tin ear, but, I hated it. But other people sound GREAT through them, so............

Happens all the time. You hear someone play on an amp, they sound great, you plug in and I think i can hear an amp and tell if it will work for me or not. I'm more of a 6L6 fan. I love to listen to guys play their Marshalls but i left that ship LONG ago.

haha I was pretty much the opposite. I had a carvin V3 then wanted something smoother so I used a boogie studio preamp for a while and then I wanted my marshall but not REALLY marshall if that makes any sense. I wanted that essence but not the actual marshall voice... I wanted a heavier marshall that wasn't a JVM. Still got the mesa though. It's my go to amp for soloing at home when I record now.

Totally kidding. I'd be down for one anywhere really. You're still far south enough for some IL guys like Jordon to come up. I'm up for going to JB's too, not a bad drive for me, but anyone furthur south, might be a bitch. July was what I was thinking. Here, there, anywhere is fine with me. We should get a thread going.

My one neighbor is cool and if I let them know we will be crazy loud for a day he won't care. He has heard me loud plenty of times but I am respectful about the loud noise in relation to time. My other neighbor I never see, so I am not worried. They will probably be happy that hear good guitar coming from my house instead of my sucky playing. I have to find out what dates she is going for sure.
