No love for Greenday

Fuck Billie Joe. Whiny little punk rock wannabe bitch. Wanted so badly to be "important" like his idols. Green Day is just another corporate machine within itself and have been ever since the late 90's. If it's so authentic why the fuck would they be even playing some stupid show like that. Funny how they will soon have 3 albums coming out (is Uno out yet?). Gotta generate that publicity. I never minded their music too much and thought he's had a pretty good guitar tone (but I do hate his singing voice), but this bullshit posturing is so hypocritical and 15 years too late at that. Green Day aren't all that removed from Usher and any other pop radio for me. I'd rather watch Pink live than Green Day.

Seeing a lot of the young crowd siting with their faces in their hands was pretty funny.

G.G Allen shitting on stage was rock n roll, Iggy rolling in broken glass or smearing peanut butter on himself was rock n roll, Shit Jimi lighting his guitar on fire was rock n roll. Listening to a millionaire cry about 1 minute left to play on a bill surrounded by even shittier artists who have outpaced his relevance is just sad and pathetic.

GAH!!!!! I HATE PINK! i dont even know why, which is stupid, lol, ive hated her ever since she came out when i was like 13.

that guys lead tone was awesome though

Actually, I thoroughly enjoyed this one

I have a lot of time for this one! We were in Nice, France on vacation a couple years ago. My daughter saw an advertisement for Pink. Bought tickets and was totally dreading this. I don't give two shits for the bee-bop pop stuff, but when she broke out into this Zep classic, I was in fucking awe. Justin is shit hot on guitar. Music school paid off for him.

Back to Green Day, I just saw a blip where BJA has now admitted himself into rehab. They are tying his rant to drugs. Regardless, it was a cool rant. I really don't give two shits about Green Day either, but I can tolerate a bit of it. However, I wouldn't dis them as a band or musicians. They had a niche in the late 80's and rode it out. I have a hard time with some folks here being so demeaning toward any band that has been together with its original 3 members for 25 years.

I could sit through a Pink or Green Day show though long before a Steve Vai or Satch concert....

Not a fan of the band or their songs but the reaction is classic pure unadulterated ROCK. Well played sir, well played.

I guess this made alot of 12 year old girls moist. What a statement, what a showman. Nothing like crying like a bitch in front of thousands. Must be a real rush.

How would you react if you were a touring, professional musician for about 25 years, and your set got cut short so someone could lip-sync to bad dance music?

I guess he should have acted like a professional then.

This is rock n' roll. If you want maturity and professionalism, you can catch Barry Manilow in Vegas 5 nights a week.

Crying like a little girl bitch is rock and roll?
If he was such a stud, he would have never appeared on a bill with a rap artist. I hated punk rock but in their day they made their statement, not like this pansy

Pink is awesome. Justin Derrico is smokin too. She does the best version of Bohemien Rhapsody that I've ever heard.

I don't see where you keep getting this "crying like a bitch" analysis. He ranted, destroyed a guitar, then flipped off the camera. I don't know of any little girls that vent like that, and if there are, mom and dad are in serious need of some parenting lessons.

I'd love to see the butch, mature way you behave when you're fed up with something. Maybe they could make an Old Spice commercial out of it.

You seem to have this dreamy ideal of how the music biz does or should work, and it's the same ideal shared by countless arrogant assholes who don't know the first thing about this business.

Bah...you get into bed with a corporate shill concert because you want to suck off Clear Channel for your new album(s) release, you get what you deserve.

Quote of the year worthy.......

Trent Reznor had the music industry figured out back in this interview.

Did this happen recently? Kinda coincidence that their new album just came out, don't ya think?

And has anyone listened to Uno yet? I think it's pretty lame compared to their last 2 albums. But they won't ever top American Idiot. Blvd Of Broken Dreams and Jesus Of Suburbia are great songs in any genre.

This is the first time that they sound stale to me with weak songwriting. Unless the next 2 records are different I'd say this is the begining of the end for Green Day.

This from a review I looked up tat nails their new album.

On "¡Uno!," that's what they seem to do. If by definition punk is (or was, or should be) about breaking rules, "¡Uno!" breaks about as many as the new Carly Rae Jepsen album — or appearing on a Vegas bill alongside acts such as Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, Usher, Swedish House Mafia and other hit makers to do a quick-turnaround set at the behest of Clear Channel. Every chorus is telegraphed, every bridge comes when it should, and every chord feels crafted by the streamlining experts at Ikea.

American Idiot is where this band died for me. I even liked Warning, although many fans hated it. Every other album was GREAT!

Just another worthless radio trash band at this point.

Billy Joe and Green annoy the shit out of me. I actually like some of their songs but they've devolved into such a hacky, boring, shitty band.

So, let's examine a few things. First off, Green Day is NOT a punk band -- they're a pop rock band. If you couldn't tell from the music they've produced over the past decade plus, then the fact that they're playing the "I Heart Radio Festival" is proof enough. Secondly, Billy Joe has been around since 19 eighty fucking eight -- who fucking cares. Hahaha! If that meant anything then a band King's X would be headlining that bitch.

Billy Joe has a "I'm a big bad rock star" tantrum on stage and breaks his guitar because they get their set cut for,..who,...Usher? So cliche. What a poser -- fuck him. Should it have happened?,..probably not. Should he be upset?...probably. But be a fucking professional, suck it up and get your ass off stage.

Things in the Pop Rock world not treating you right Billy? Get over yourself.

I can't believe Billy boy's not read Henry Rollins rules for a rock star when playing live. I mean,...he has been around since 19 eighty fucking eight:

I'm just impressed with the neck joint on the double cut-away Gibson....
