A good old Marshall half stack. :inlove:

That classic Marshall roar gets me every time. I think I need to get my self another 800 when my life settles down a bit.

Dont get me wrong I love my Axe-Fx you cannot beat it for recording, but sometimes you need to crank a classic Marshall through a 4x12 and feel your face melted with pure sex coming from the speakers.

:rawk:

i agree

theres fender guys, and marshall guys.

im definately a marshall fan myself. love that fucking growl

I know exactly where you are coming from...
Serously I sometimes forget and then I put an album on with that classic marshall roar and I get goose bumps.. its the reason why I play guitar (that and Angus and Malcom Young) it just sounds so right to me.

Yep. I am a Marshall guy myself. A Randall MTS guy actually but I have 4 Marshall modules that cover all my gain tones.

Everything about this post hits the bullseye.

Marshall's and Soldano's for me. Nothing else seems to cut like these amps in the mix and the tones i get are awesome.

You got that right

Yeah. I had been happy with my AXE up until this weekend when we cranked up my Herbert, an SLO and an ENGL SE. Still like the AXE, but it got me in the mood to buy another tube amp. It won't be a Marshall though.

Saw a band last week, lead guitarist had a Diezel Einstein and the rhythm guy had a JCM 800. The JCM buried and pissed all over the Einstein. Needless to say I'm breaking out my 2203 for a retube haha.

What power section does the Diezel use, 6L6,6550,EL34 ?

I've honestly never played a tube marshall besides a TSL combo :aww:

I've wanted an SLX for a long time though....

my tastes are slowly turning back towards the old marshall sounds, which made me pick up a guitar in the first place. My favorite amps at the moment are the modern sounding amps with that old school marshall growl.

I spent some time A/B'ing an 800 halfstack and a Mark IV halfstack last weekend, and IMO the Mark IV was the winner. More articulate growly goodness. The Marshall was awesome though and had the Boogie beat for lower gain crunch and that authentic growl, but the Mark IV's lead channel is just a perfect sound when dialed correctly and with a traditional 412.

For me, I feel like I'm missing some feel whenever I play a stock 800. Same with the reissues, SLP, plexi's I've played.

You can use just about any octal power-tube out there. Even mix pairs.

Nothing beats a marshall gunned.

Love my 77 JMP with ptp board, uncompressed beauty.

Thanks did'nt know that.
I've seen RATT a few good times and everytime the Soldano sounds better through the mix than his Diezel amp. I've heard him play both amps live and the Diezel is warmer sounding but the Soldano always sounds more Alive to me.

Just curious but how loud was the 800?

The MKIV and 800 are polar opposites for guitar tone though, so I can see how someone could be blown away by one and not the other.
