I know, I know, it's been done to death for sure, but here is my tutorial on the solo. I hear a lot of guys playing it "different" so this is my take on it. IMHO it's pretty accurate to the original version. If you're learning it or just want to brush up on it I think this vid could help.

Thanks for watching and I hope you get something out of it.
cheers everyone

Hey man, that was killer! When I have to learn this song for my cover project, I'm going to use this tutorial… great sounding as well.

Stairway is one of the all time best rock songs ever. It is cool to slag on it for some. Kinda like Hotel California in being a classic.

The only thing wrong with that.... is that you didn't put the screw back into the hole that kept the pickguard on :P

Hey garey77, thanks for that bud. Hope it helps you learn it. For me it's that lick up in the octave position that's the toughest to get sounding right (the one before all the big bends). Good luck with it.
cheers

Hey Heritage Softail, funny you should say that, my brother in law just yesterday was telling me how much he hates classic rock, can't figure out why people keep listening to Hotel California, "I mean how many times can you listen to that sh*@" hahaha!
cheers

That was awesome. What kind of rig are you using?

Hey thepylestory, thanks a lot for the nice comment bud! I'm using an Egnater Renegade head into a Marshall 1960B cab with celestions (it's about 40 or 50 years old). I have a bit of amp reverb and a bit of delay from my TC Electronics Nova System, and then just a wee bit of BBPreamp. The pickups on my LP are Suhr Aldrich. I'm actually recording it at a pretty low volume too. I use a 57 on the cab and a ZOOM H2 as a room mike.

Thanks for watching
cheers

In 1969' Joe Walsh contacted Jimmy and told him he needed a LP.

Walsh personally delivered "Thee 59' Burst" his [still] # 1 and sold it to Page for like $1200 bucks, the rest is History ...
