You probably never should have taken the Alcatrazz gig.... yikes he is horrible. Vibrato and terrible sloppy alternate picking. What would he do if his effects were taken away? That whammy effect... without it, would anything sound that impressive?

 
Oh for fuck's sake.....gee, someone's picking technique wasn't quite as flawless as Yngwie Fucking Malmsteen's. What a 30 year old shock.

Flawless technique is all that matters when it comes to playing guitar and everything else even the music is a far distant second.... everyone knows that.
 
That was 85. Vai has consistently been one of the most "ON" live players there is.

I know what you mean man. Either one of us could have totally stepped in and taken over Yngwie's spot better than that. Total rubbish.
 
Note to the OP: Steve Vai doesn't take notes from never has beens....just saying
 
I can honestly say I think that is the first time I have ever heard someone say Vai was sloppy.

I watched the first tune in that vid & Vai played amazing!

What are you hosers smoking up there in the great white north?

I wish I played a quarter as well as Vai on his worst day........
 
Guys, if you listen closely, there is something very interesting about his solos. Skip to the 8:00 mark. If you listen, at around 8:10, the audio crossfades during his solo and what I assume is a pre-recorded' version of the solo cuts in, so he is just playing air guitar along to that part. Same thing happens at 4:13. If you watch, he isn't actually playing the solo and is just air guitar-ing to a pre-recorded solo. It finally fades into his actual live guitar solo at 4:54. WOW!

Yeah Vai was such an idiot. That stupid Alcatrazz gig then he replaced Eddie Van Halen with DLR's band.....what was he thinking. And he continued making dumb moves joining Whitesnake, I bet he hated touring the world and playing all those arenas, what a fool. What a shitty career...I bet his solo albums sucked right?






Now on a serious note.............This has got to be one of the most fucking retarded threads I've ever seen.
