Deliverance dude made his offer better so I'll be making the trade tonight :)

Yeah. I'm psyched but have mixed feelings. Ideally I'd like to have both, but I'm planning a trip to China and need the money for that.

Glad you got a cool amp. I think you will find you still sound like you. At the skill level and gear quality level you are at. Some top notch lessons from a studio player or someone like that will probably bring the best results.

Good luck on the china trip. Grad school related?

Yeah, that's what I was surprised to find when I played it. Still sounded like me. Which is good and bad ;)

China trip is for a visual art residency. 2 months in Chongqing, which is on Frommer's list of the top places in the world to go in 2012. Hopefully I can play some shows over there. Ambassador of the american brootalz :D

To me an amp is just a tinted mirror of sorts.

Sounds like an awesome opportunity ya got there. Pics from when you are gone,or else you just did 60 days for shoplifting at Walmart

Congrats man, Mesa's are plentiful anyways, if you ever miss it enough. That VHT is a beast, and little harder to come by. Good luck and have a blast!

Agreed. When I was trying to price check, I couldn't even find any other deliverance 60's for sale. I think my next Mesa will be a mark iv anyway.

Guy even threw in some beer! Now that's a trade. :D

Pleasure doing business with you.

I am going to miss that Deliverance though...

Also, what button would have been pushed that would cause this?

You can engage the loop, and there is a level for the loop. If the level is set low when the loop is engaged bye bye volume. You can also use it as a boost. :)

You too, dude. It remains to be seen if I miss the Mesa or not, Altho I'm sure it won't be long until I miss having another channel or two.

And damn, I didn't realize your pitbull had reverb. WHUT

Yep. 3 channels and reverb. The downside some people may see is that the Reverb control replaces the depth control, but I've never found the Pittbull lacking low end. That graphic EQ can compensate if necessary also, or just use an EQ pedal. I don't actually use the amp reverb even though it sounds good. I use my Quadraverb for all my reverbs.

I have found "my" sounds with that amp, used it extensively for recording and live, and it has never disappointed me. It's the only amp that I can use a Strat to play palm muted metal and still sound good on.

I have the same amp without reverb, ridiculous freakin amp. Traded my Roadster for it and haven't looked back. The Roadster had been my end all be all amp stompin over every head I had put in its path until this came along. I think people forget that it's a CLX before they were forced to change the name from 'Classic' by Peavey minus a few minor features.

So I played the pitbull 50. No bueno. It had no punch to it until the volume was about 2/3 of the way up, and at full tilt it only got as loud as my Mesa does at about 1/3 volume on 50 watts. Also, the boost had seemingly no effect. The eq was great. Also, the overall sound was nowhere near as good as the deliverance. Plus, the efx loop was affecting the aound when it was turned off. When the eq was on, it was like the efx loop was fully on, even though it was off. Also, having the presence and depth controls on the back was infuriating. Maybe it was a bad one, I dunno. I really like the deliverance, just wish it had efx loop and another channel.

Do you own one or did you just play one? If keep the individual channels vol low and crank up the far right master that will help. I can get some pretty decent lower volume tone out my 50CL. VHT's are not for everyone. Even with gobs of gain they retain a clarity and dryness that I actually like. If you have a sloppy technique it will be heard as there is no hiding it under massive amounts of gain.

I just played one. Someone else told me the same thing about the channel volumes. Will have to try another one. I've got the deliverance now, and I agree: my technique is going To have to improve.

So anyone got any ideas on what it is about these amps that makes them so unforgiving?
