Just bought a used Maxon OD808 off Ebay just a little bit ago today after reading a lot of reviews on here and listening to sound clips on YouTube, hopefully I won't lose too much low end being that our band is tuned to drop B? I have my Boss SD-1 up for sale locally, for some reason I just didn't gel with it running into the Mesa? I did however try it with my Marshall Artist 3203 boosting the OD channel and it didn't sound too bad but I think I might pick up a V2 Fulltone OCD to try and use with my Marshall Artist (the Artist and my Peavey 6505+ heads are both at the Tech right now).

Any suggested settings for the Mesa Tverb with the Maxon, I'll be running it into the Marshall cab in my sig? Next I want to get an ISP Decimator to use with my Mesa rig and use my Boss ns-2 with the Marshall Artist once I get it back I think?

Try the 808 gain off , level around 3oclock, tone at noon....Set the gain on the amp lower than you normally would without the boost

I run my 808 with level jacked, tone jacked and drive all the way down. That's how I ran it with my Mesa anyways

I don't like the gain on the Maxon OD-808 all the way off. Just a touch at 8 to 8 oclock works best for me. I run the level as high as I can, usually around 2 oclock, and the tone at 1 oclock. I have a Mesa mark IVA and use the Maxon to boost R2.

I like my Maxon with drive off, tone just shy of noon, and the level at noon with my Uberschalls. Keeps the low end while making it easier to play.

I run mine with the tone at 9:00, drive off, level at 2:00.

Congrats, I would keep the SD-1 just to have something different imo.

I have a maxon 808, I have a protone dead horse and a dunlop green rhino. Personally I like the rhino the best but it depends on the amp. I would try all sorts of boosts if you aren't happy.

Green Rhino is one I havent tried.... What do you like more about it ?

Dropped you a line about the rhino. For me, I just like the overall tone and the options it provides while staying simplistic. For me it outdid pedals that cost me a lot more.
