So I've been using my Axe-Fx III (and Axe II before) at the output of my Suhr Reactive Load to load Cab IR's. It works great and there's a lot of flexibility in being able to do some creative routes, adding effects and such. But I'd really like to just power up my amps and pedals and play. So I was looking for an IR loader/player in a pedal size that I could put on my board. Logical choice at first was the Two Notes C.A.B., but it has features I don't need and I never could justify the ~$400 price tag when I had a functioning system with the AxeFxIII.

So I stumbled across the Mooer Radar:

It arrived in the mail today and I spent a couple of hours with it. Pretty easy setup:
Guitar through normal pedal and amp setup-> Speaker output of Amp -> Suhr Reactive Load -> Mooer Radar -> FRFR speakers.
I loaded up several Celestion IR's that sounded great. The little knob allows you to scroll through the User Presets. It has a Power Amp simulation and an EQ, but I just turn those off since I'm already using my real power amp and just want this to do Cab sim.

Not really a problem with the Radar, but a big negative is that I have several Fractal Cab Packs with a ton of really great IR's, but those are ONLY useable by the Fractal products, can't load them up anywhere else. I guess I missed the fine print there. The Mooer works with any .wav file, so luckily I had purchased some Celestion IR's that works well.

Question for the group. I am looking for a good IR mixing tool to be able to create my own mixed IR's. I was looking at Red Wire mixIR2, anyone have any experience there, good, bad, ??
I have the Fractal Cab Lab and that works great, I created a bunch of IR mixes that have been my plug and play, go-to Cab IR's for a long time, but obviously that only works for the AxeFx.

I'm glad its working out for you, I've been interested in these for awhile. I heard they were having software issues with the units. For less than $200, it seems like a no brainer to have.

I read some reviews about updates not going well, so I made sure to follow the directions completely and mine updated fine. Honestly I was worried about sound quality because all my pedals, cables, amps and guitars are all pretty much top end stuff, I was worried about putting a little cheap Mooer pedal in the signal path, but it’s great.

I also forgot that about 7 or 8 years ago I purchased the Big Box of Redwirez IR’s, so I actually had everything I needed including the mixIR2 plugin. So a quick password recovery and I’m in business.

And perfect timing, received a Labor Day sale 25% off email for Celestion Plus IR’s

Weekend plans confirmed !!

WHOAH, WHOAH, WHOAH!!!
A demo that's not extremely gained out and is actually mid-gain with a strat?!?!

On the the other hand, meh...didn't make me want it. Didn't sound that great. Probably just the demo. I would really like something like this though.

Yeah. Really depends if you’re into using Cab IR’s or not and if you want to break free from the PC to use them.

I have one and it's pretty cool. I'll probably sell it though because I have an axe 2 and just got an ax8 so i can use the cab blocks in those too. I guess we're having similar frustrations.

I dig my Radar as well. Have never updated it though lol........guess I better look into that lol
