I have had many great and helpful conversations on this forum with a lot of you about gear and I have bought and sold plenty of gear as well....but what is it with certain members here who offer ridiculous trades or prices for your items for sale. For example I had a $3000 Knaggs up for sale here and someone wanted to trade me for a non USA made Charvel......currently I have several high quality Van Den Hul instrument cables listed for sale and a member offered me $50 for several of them that are valued over $200.

Can we start weeding out the non experienced musicians please....if not I will just depart this forum as much as I would hate to do that. I hate to rant but damn man....what a waste of time responding to those who do this!

Totally agree. Low ballers can fuck off. And tire kickers for that matter. Go make your insulting offers on Reverb and EBay.

In your listings, state low ball offers or ridiculous trades will be ignored. This puts the aggravation on them. N one likes to be ignored, especially after they know you read it.

Sry but i just don't get this....
You wanted us to know that you will quit a guitar forum because you get too much annoyed and bothered when you try to sale something...
And please define the term "non experienced musicians"...

There are more easy ways to sell something online....try them insted of nagging...

Ps: I am not one of the guys who offered a crappy charvel for a knuggs.....

It's all part of the game. And yes it sucks, and it is everywhere. If I list something it's generally "Price fair and firm, not interested in a trade unless it is a _____________ I will not respond to other offers"

Dont take this the wrong way, but, bye?

You're threatening to leave a public forum over the way the public uses it... is it too much to ask that you stay and just ignore them like the rest of us do?

If you don’t like what someone offers you, just say no thanks and move on.

For all that guy knew you could’ve said yes. No harm in asking. Or, maybe there is. Sorry. This is kinda dumb to get in a tizzy over, IMHO.

Love the replies....Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

Just down a few and chill. Sometimes people need a break. Have a nice weekend and I hope to see you here on Tuesday after the holiday.

I think everyone gets burned out once in a while.

Cheers ?

I have a really nice Blueburst Tommy Thayer epi LP that I'd be willing to trade for the Knaggs.
I'm experienced. Don't leave.

I'm sorry to vent...but I am seriously considering clicking off of this thread if the users don't respond in a way that I like. Is there a way we can screen who uses this thread as to keep amateur thread posters away?

I have to agree that getting low balled does suck but when you threaten to take your toys and go home it never turns out good.

Wasn’t a threat...more of a statement than anything else. I live by the theory of you only live once so if I am not happy with something I move on. Again not a threat just a statement that if some of the members here don’t show some respect then it would make sense to move on.

Someone once tried to sell me their cabinet for 15% less than brand new. It was not a vintage cabinet, these are still made and in production. The tolex was just starting to peel off and had begun to fade, and it looked like it had been stored in a pile of dirty laundry. The jack plate was scuffed or had old adhesive, and one of the speakers had been reconed because he had blown it out at a gig. What would you expect the discount for this to be? He ended up selling it for 15% less than brand new. I wouldn't have come in anywhere near that price.

On another piece of gear, I paid 25% of the asking price. No one wanted it at his original price, so they just moved along, but anyone could have gotten the deal I did, I just happened to be the one who asked. The guy didn't have much in it but didn't want to lose any upside. He actually thanked me for taking it off his hands.

I'm sure others have stories like these, too. Sometimes buyers and sellers match up, sometimes they don't. It's not personal.

I should mention that my Epi Tommy Thayer is the 2019 model. Very few hours played on it and in mint condition.

Selling on Craigslist and FB groups has been terrible lately. Getting offers of like 20% of my asking price... not 20% off my asking price but 20% of the price. I had a reasonably priced import listed locally for $500, $100 less than the lowest recent sale on Reverb before shipping and someone offered $100 and then when I declined said that they could buy it online for the same price, I asked to send a link for me to see and they went radio silent

I generally don’t bother replying to lowball offers or people who can’t seem to communicate above a third grade level. Trying to work a deal with such people is generally fruitless and I’d rather save myself the frustration.

I like to say something to the effect of... “that’s a good deal... you should buy that on instead”
