Choose one or the other. I'm just curious. I'm not asking which is better, just which one would you rather keep? Thanks.

Don't own either but after lots of clips, IMHO the Kemper seems to sound more like an actual amp recorded. Don't get me wrong, I never thought anything would change my mind on getting the Axe for recording ... until I heard the Kemper.

Owned both. For what I like and need I kept the Kemper. That said the AxeFX2 is a cool and more "mature" tool development wise but I thought the tones in the Kemper were more to my liking. And even as someone who does like at times a good selection of effects I don't find that I'm missing much not having the routing and fx of the AxeFX2... especially if you already have a good FX unit. I use a PODHD500 for foot controller for the Kemper, extra effects, looping and as a controller for a JTV Variax... so I have the extra FX covered that way.

Best advice is if possible try them both and see which fits you better.

Interesting subject ....

It can be if people don't take other people's opinions and tastes as a personal slam against their gear of choice.

This thread has a few double owners. Fractal site but some seem pretty unbiased. Just ignore the obviously biased posts.

I think I ended up ignoring about 98%  It's Fractal's forum and that is to be expected though since guys there love the AxeFX and it works for them the best. And yes to be fair some of the same shit happens in the Kemper forum IMHO. I tell you what... one of most fascinating things about forums dedicated to a specific tool that people use to get something done is they are an interesting thing to watch from a human behavior stand point. I'm a 3D CG artists and I've seen heavy fan boyism in forums comparing software like Maya, XSI, 3D Max etc. That said the digital modeling realm of guitar gear has taken that to whole new level IMHO.

Just buy both then you'll always be on the winning team come argument time. :) Guys who go on forums and say either is a POS haven't played both IMO.

good question, I'm thinking about jumping to kemper so interested in genuine opinions as well

I would try both and see what works best for you, both can be returned for refund if I'm not mistaken.
Internet clips can be very misleading, trying them out yourself with your gear is the best way to figure out what will work best in your situation.

Both are great products!!!

We're gonna need more popcorn...... :checkthisout:

Sampled popcorn though. It's actually better than the real thing.

As long as its not that aliasing flavored popcorn.

I've already contacted KPA about getting their 3U product once it's available. I'm just going in - full on...get both and move forward. No need for amp as the active CLRs will handle powering.

Peace,
Mo

Axe 2, tried the Kemper for three weeks but always preferred the Axe after continous A/B ing.

Axe 2,

I don't like my modelers to be user friendly, today user friendly means optionless.
I like total control of every single parameter and the axe gives me that.

And the aliasing I am sensitive to and can't get over. Internal sample rate 22.5 goes totally against nuyquist (for the geeks.)
