That sounded awesome! I loved the guitar tone. One of my favorite replicated tones. I may like it better than the original.

thanks, im flattered.

That was great! Tone was great, and I like the way you dig in and get the goods with your right hand.
I've been listening to the old VH bootlegs a lot recently, damn Ed was the man back then.

thanks bro. Its the very rare time where I actually play a Fender Medium Pick to dig in like you say since im normally very light touched with right hand approach. I think thats part of getting the sound eh? the thinner picks bounce back, its like a car with good shock absorbers on a bumpy road!

Sounds great.

Is there any reverb from Eddies sound mixed in?

thankls Dave. very subtle plate verb in the backing mix, i used the verb on my board for the most part.

How about from the original song? I am wondering how you got singing and drums and no guitar... usually there is eddies guitar reverb mixed in with the rhythm.

I found the backing track at http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/bts/Van_Halen.htm ...it sounds like the main guitar track was panned out somehow, u can hear some residue of it very faintly. check it out.

Ant never fails to deliver a barn burning performance, one of my favorite guitarists period. Cannot wait for him to finish his solo project.

Stunning Ant!

Thanks. You played one of my favorite VH songs

It's one of my favs too. I actuallly 4-tracked this tune years ago and learned all the drum parts on drum machine, totally obsessed with it, hear about it later is another one I'd like to do.

Ant is EVH, that is all.

That freaking killed bro!! The nuances were there, the attitude was there in spades and the tone was EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Crap, that was pretty inspiring!!! It was so good that trying to nitpick would be a challenge.

You rock Fratello!!!

It took alot for me to listen to this Ant, since I really hate VH tones.... :D With that said, you nailed it playing and tonewise.....nice recording! Whatever you did to your studio setup is working.... :)

Fuck yeah, I love that song. Tone and playing was awesome. If it wasn't for the occasional background noise and little differences in certain passages I would have thought it was the original guitar track

Yep thanks man. There was no getting around this hiss because it was just sizzling loud, i couldve used a noise gate, but i wanted to not damper the original tone in any way, but for pro recording, i may have to do that. The experimenting never ends! :)

thanks dude. The iso cab in small closet is mainly what i've been experimenting with. I used some aurlex strips and a couple blankets but not over doing because i have hardwood fllors and wanted to get more natural sound from that space and not get to muffly with over doing it with materials and blankets. its on going as you know, mic placement as well.
