several reasons. The amp is pretty much dimed, I'm not using noisegates, I use old beat up analog pedals that hiss in the signal chain, The duncan 78' PU is a single conductor humbucker which is more noisier than most HB's, my home line level is noisy as well. This is not a pro recording, I would do alot more to eliminate noise if it were, just a test/demo.

Yeah I agree dude, I use the BOSS NS-2 live but only in between tunes to eliminate unwanted hiss through a P.A..

thanks Ralphie! here's what I used but keep in mind as a stock amp, the master volume mod gave a bit more dirt then when i had it as a NMV, but still pretty much like a stock MV JMP.

Les Paul w/ duncan 78 bridge > Vintage MXR Micro amp ( on very slightly 9m) , Vintage MXR Block ( Script modded) phase 90 > Vintage MXR Flanger > AMP.
Echoplex EP-4 was in my loop and was switching on and off in certain areas.
