Hey MrDan, what DI box are you using? I've always wondered whether or not the DI is that important in this setup if your equipment can handle different type of inputs. My presonus has line and instrument level inputs on the front, I'm interested in knowing whether or not i can skip getting a DI box and just look at picking up a reamp box.

Thanks for the comments/replies everyone!!

I will do my best to put out some more clips of the amp. Hopefully should get some more free time at the weekend if all goes to plan.

As for the DI/Impulse Response setup, i would be more than happy to take some photos to show you how I'm doing it. It's so simple you will laugh at how easy it is to set up :) Keep an eye on this thread and I'll get some pics of my recording setup for you guys who are interested.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

I'm not using any DI boxes or anything like that. I have a load box that i made, it's 4 ohms and rated 250w max. They're easy to build if you're handy with a soldering iron and a drill, and you can buy the Arcol resistors and a Hammond enclosure from Mouser.

Anyway, i installed a basic adjustable Line-Out Jack in the loadbox and i just hook that up directly to the DI input on my Mbox2 and that's it :) I use a convolution plugin called LAConvolver, which allows me to use the impulse responses in Garageband.

I can just take the signal from my hotplate rather than build a separate load box but i'll keep that in mind as well thanks.

Sounds great. Love those raw clips, get a true feel of the amp, and rhythm playing too, good stuff

Thanks guys!! Will post up some more clips very soon. Been busy this week drilling holes in chassis and inhaling solder fumes :D

For those who were interested, here's the loadbox I'm using. It's just a bog-standard basic resistive load using ten 40ohm/25w resistors in parallel. And a simple lineout tapped off it into a pot and jack.

Now you go back and hang a solo over that right now, young man!!!
Sounds killer, bro!
