Holy crap that is pretty fast compared to years ago! Dangit, I want one!!!

When are you having us all over for a run-thru of presets, tone tips and tea and crumpets?

Congratulations brother, enjoy, and please give us a review

lol....Yeah really looking forward to checking it out!

Channels/ naming scenes/ gapless switching/ much improved pitch shifting/ Cab lab IR mixer in the cab block/ improved tuner/ color LCD screen/ improved on unit UI/ 8x8 usb for real time reamping/ more inputs & outputs/ improved reverbs & tri chorus etc..etc......

Not to mention you get a brand new much more powerful unit for Cliff to continually obsess on improving & adding new stuff to!

Honestly, I was expecting it to cost over $3000 for one before they finally came out, I think the price is right.

I got on the waitlist 9:26 am eastern on 1/29/18. The first day it started. Got the invite last week Thursday.

AFX III arrives this Wednesday...

Thanks for sharing Scott.

What's the waitlist price? Can you give your invitation to someone else? I signed up when it was first announced just cause, but have no plans to buy one. I didn't get a notification yet.

$2499....no you can’t give your invitation to someone else.

I have had a blast with my Axe-Fx II and although it didn't completely kill my G.A.S. for tube amps, it put me in a good place. It was like giving Igor a shot in the neck with some sedative. It keeps me level enough to not go blow my money on a ton of amps. I turn the dial and ADHD to whatever tone I want that day. LOL!

I do want to hear some comparisons from owners of the previous versions once this thing really gets rolling.

got mine in last week, thing is pretty freaking amazing! Very easy to edit from the main screen

If you don't want to wait you can spend an extra grand and get one pronto , they seem to have some extra inventory just for that cause ...

http://shop.fractalaudio.com/Axe_Fx_III_p/fas-026.htm

Thank you, but I'm not in that big a hurry, an extra grand is just over my pay grade. Good to see they have that option for professionals who can justify it though. It's exciting as hell to finally be getting some decent gear, crazy to think about where I was just a few years ago

Good to see they price-gouge those who are impatient? What a fucked up business practice. It's this mentality and shitty business model, I'll never order from those scumbags. Fuck them. I'm sorry, there's no justification to charge an extra $1,000, then fuck you out of $350 in re-stock fees to return it. That's outrageous, and totally uncalled for.

I mean I get it, scalpers are just gonna get on the wait list early, and buy just to resell for a profit on eBay or reverb or wherever. This has happened with every other model they’ve released. Might as well keep that profit for yourself rather than let some other guy have it. If you don’t want to pay more, there’s the normal waitlist.

I’d be tempted to just skim a few units off the top of each shipment and sell them at the inflated scalper prices on reverb and eBay, but can you imagine the forum shitshow if it were found out.

The only real problem I have with this practice is that it means less units available for those who are on the regular wait list.

I'm on the list...but bought a car, amp, several pedals and moved since then. Not sure if I want to spend more right now on gear.

LOL.....Fractal will really be hurt by your non purchase

Cliff does this to hurt scalpers. Somebody is less likely to purchase just to flip it for $3500 on eBay...when Fractal gives the impatient person willing to pay that extra $1000 the ability to get it direct from Fractal with a full 1 year warranty, as opposed to zero warranty when buying from a flipper.

Hopefully Cliff makes extra money this way as well.....so the fuck what....the guy has given the best customer service & ridiculous after sale free add on goodies to his products since day 1.

You're not gonna get too many takers out there to join you in Fractal bashing.....their history has given them a bucket load of well deserved good will...

& by the way....mine is "Out For Delivery"

Their history of sketchy business practices are well-documented as well, fanboy.

They should've just priced it at a level that demand = supply and then dropped the price down the line. The current demand alone tells you it's underpriced at $2500. I'm not sure what that price point is, but I'd bet they could easily sell them for $3,000 and people wouldn't think twice about.

I just got my invite. I like the Axe FX but as much as I'd like to check it out, I decided I'm not gonna buy it - even though it'd probably be easy to flip for what I paid for it. I'm buying a real amp/cab instead! The Axe sounds good, but I know it won't sound as good as a tube amp in the room. I guess I don't want to spend my time tweaking it incessantly...trying to make it sound as good as the real amp it's sitting next to. A/Bing/tweaking over and over and over. I've been down that road several times before and it always results in me posting an ad in the classifieds for a like-new, three month old Axe FX. lol.

I've never had any issues or experienced this but I can see why some people would be upset with the "quick buy" thing. I can't really say much because I bought one back in the day like this.

I totally get this, it was very tempting to skip the Axe FX III, and get a real amp along with something like the Torpedo, or that other apparatus, the Powerstation or whatever it's called. If I get the 3 and change my mind, I'll give someone a great deal on the 3 :)

They did that because one sold for $3500 on ebay 2 days after they started shipping and the idiot who bought it went and bragged on the forum. Its to offer impatient customers a way of buying a unit for what they are selling for on the used market but at least have a warranty. And fwiw, they only set aside a few units for this if you cared to read it.Scumbags? Free updates and constant evolution of the product for its lifecycle...are you a fucking moron? Some of the best customer service in the industry. And btw, if someone is stupid enough to spend $3500 to not have to wait, then you deserve a 10% restocking fee(which a lot of companies charge on products btw)

Don’t see the problem, how is this any different than paying extra for express shipping as you need something faster? Or paying a tech for rush service because you need to jump the queue?

I’ve never had an Axe FX and not sure if I’ll buy, but threw myself on the wait list anyway as this looks like the best version yet and the most easy to use. Not in a hurry and I’ll wait.

I'm pretty sure the joke flew over your head. I'm no fanboy.

I read their return policy. If you return it within the specified time frames, there is only the cost of shipping, not 10%.
