You think this looks more than finish deep? Thinking about putting in an offer. Need some expert advice cause I've had lots of poly guitars but none ever had finish cracks.

hard to tell.
It is. I thought about messaging the seller.....

Wife is dead set against it based on the crack. I just don't wanna have to repair it if it's a heel crack or a crack in the 3 piece neck, that'd be a mess. I think it's a 3 piece neck. So I'm gonna get a few opinions here at the forum and think about it.

Pass. Why invite problems?
the original Reverb listing also shows where it took a nasty fall on the lower horn. Considering it was from a fall...pass
I messaged the seller. We'll see what he says.....

A new one is about 1100. I'm gonna dump the pickups anyways so I'm just looking to cut costs....

between sales coming up, and used prices, I think you will find something. I picked up an open box EC1000 on Amazon for 689, lol. Not a blemish on it.

call MF and see if they have an active discount on new?
I haven't bought a brand new guitar since 1999.....

Probably so but I want teh purple and they aren't making that color anymore. I was just thinking I could wing a good deal cause of the finish issues, which, if only cosmetic, don't bother me.

Thanks guys. I messaged the seller and his response wasn't confidence inspiring. He just repeated his return policy. Nothing like "we inspected it very carefully when it came into our shop and were able to determine it was only superficial damage to the paint." No, he says "you have seven days to inspect and return this item if you believe it's more than a finish crack". Conclusion: it's more than a finish crack. Hard pass based on his response.

The Koreans did a nicer job on the purples though, the Indonesians all seem to be too dark.

I've owned several guitars with finish cracks on the sides of the neck joint, but id be worried that it goes all the way across the back of the neck as well.

One of the reasons I let go of several of my Washburn Dimes back in 2010 or so was because they had the cracks in the finish at the neck joint, a common problem with both the usa and import models. I only kept the best ones. Looking back on that decision now...I wish I had kept them all. But that is only because of what they are SUPPOSEDLY worth now.

I prefer the cocaine based.. Who put water on my speakers?
