Opinions on Jet City's new amps?

I've heard good things so far. One of the members in my Discord group just got a custom 20H and they're super happy with it. Only took 2 weeks to turn it around as well

I've only experienced the Amelia and regardless of the price tag it was an absolute killer. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one of that was my flavor and something I was looking at.

Prices are really high for cheap made in china amps. They use to be like $350 new for the 20 watt.

Wait… so it’s only the 22 watt amps?
Yeah, they're not doing the 50's for whatever reason. It almost seems like a one person operation with Doug handling it all, but I could be wrong.

I don't believe they are entirely built in China this time around. There are lots of options to customize what you want out of it. The boards are designed by Bryce/Epic Amplification, and his catalog of mods that he offers is available from the factory with these amps. Pretty sure Doug wires the populated boards in the chassis, or at least helps out with it.

I took delivery of one that has a 2 channel BE/HBE vibe, and looks like the Runt series. It's pretty much on par with my Friedman modded 20H that I've had for a number of years (where the mids sit is quite different; otherwise very similar sounding). I opted to not upgrade the OT, caps, or have a loop installed because I plan on doing those myself shortly. As-is, man it rips.

Yeah, a single channel 20 watt with no upgrades 10 years ago was that price. Not sure when the prices went up for that model to be honest. Now the boards are better quality, transformers are better, tubes are better all right out of the box.

They literally have a ton of options
If you want a 50 watt they will do it
NegAtive feedback control , mid sweep and the voicing choices and board options are pretty nuts
Choose Bogner Uber ,XTC, SLO
Vh4, BE HBE JJ etc etc preamps

Yeah Bryce has a ton of really cool mods/upgrades/doodads. Been buds with him for a few years and he's always eager to help out or give knowledge.

I have three JCA20 amps and in stock form they are built like tanks with over built transformers. My main practice amps is my Jose modded JCA20. The amp is literally left on for hours at a time (I've easily left it on for 10 hours without issue). The power transformer never gets hot. I think I paid $300, $200 and $185 for each amp. They were a steal... as you know they are great mod platforms and mods are so easy to do. That said, I'd never pay $500-600 for one of these amps even with mod options. I get people need to make money, so I hope they sell and people enjoy them.
