I cannot make up my mind about what power amp to buy for my W/D/W system. I'm seriously considering ISP's Stealth Power Amp. Opinions on that unit? Other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I think that one doesn't have it's own on/off switch? That'd be annoying.

Matrix line is great.. much better than the ART I had.... For solid state, the Matrix is a great power amp  1000fx unit is more than you'll ever need.

I`m using a Crown power amp and it sounds massive, any solid state power amp will work. I also have a QSC power amp and it sounds the same as the Crown. The effects unit is the major factor here.

Or of if you can find an H&H....Good luck on that one.

Matrix GT1000FX is what I use for my W/D set-up.

Matrix GT 800 FX.

I used to use a VHT 2/50/2 and as nice as that sounded, a tube amp is just not necessary for the wet of a W/D/W rig and the 800 weighs like 22 lbs less! I'd never use a tube power amp for W/D/W again...

In fact the guys from Matrix I met at the LA Amp Show two years ago recommended it over the GT 1000 FX for running the stereo wet of a W/D/W rig. One of their sales guys was trying to sell me on the 1000, but the tech guys said the 800 was better for what I was doing… The 800 can keep up with a cranked Cherry Bomb - it can handle anything…

And now, a few pics of my rig just because I feel like sharing it:

With a few fiddles I was messing with today as well:

Interesting info about the GT800FX, Steve. Thanks for that and lovely rig pics. I'm trying to avoid the 3x 4x12s thing. I'll most probably use either 1x12s or 2x12s for the wet sides of the rig.

A 4x12 in the middle with a pair of Mesa Thiele 1x12's with the EVM12L would be massive sounding.

Yeah, a couple of Bogner Cubes and a 4x12 would be fine.

necro bump - what is the Holmes setting? I have done lots of search here, the other thread got me thinking. I see the 26ms setting and zero repeats. What are the chorusing settings? Rate?

Left SDE-3000 - Time=500ms, Feeback=11, Out=30, Rate=40, Depth=8
Right SDE-3000 - Time=250ms, Feeback=11, Out=30, Rate=40, Depth=8

Use wet only outs. Run them hot - well into the red on signal input.

26ms has nothing to do with what Holmes was doing with Ozzy...
