I got this amp new for $350. Musicians friend SDOTD.
The gain channel is a bit odd. Sounds like you’re stuck with a built in tube screamer or something.

the clean channel is so good. Very beefy. Fun to use with pedals. The one watt mode is... a good eye opener to show just how loud one watt really is.

I also have a Jim root terror. You know what people say about lunchbox amps lacking bottom end? The Jim root terror has that problem. Otherwise, it sounds incredible.

STOTD here too. It doesn't get thick until gain is like 3 o'clock. It can hit 85 DB on 1 watt, true story.

Likes long plates in V2 as well.

I’ve had one for a while now and dig it. It’s basically a goosed JMP in the drive channel. you’ll notice it’s a lot brighter than most Oranges. The clean channel cranked with P-90’s does some good early 70’s Stonesy tones. Dirty channel responds to volume roll off like a champ. This is a quick and dirty vid I did soon after getting it. Gain pretty maxed and just the guitar volume for cleaner tones.

total inaudible mess of shit live from what ive heard/seen...

I've seen them twice live and they sounded great both times. I think Bill was using a Butterslax and the matching cab when they played with Primus. I've heard that he uses the helix to front of house these days.

Primus on the other hand sounded like shit at Lollapalooza in the 90's and sound like shit in 2018

I’ve seen them a few times, but it was before the Butterslax was released. Bill was running a jcm800 half stack. Brent was running a blend of either 2-3 full stacks. One time I saw them he 3 full stacks consisting of a Marshall, Orange, and a VH4 all mic’d up. I can’t be certain of how they were blended, but whatever it was it was pretty muddy. Bill’s tone through the 800 was really good though.

I kinda feel like Brent isnt much of a gear nerd as Bill is. I think I remember Bill saying at one point Brent didnt even know what amps he does have.

Sorta off topic I took a guitar lesson off Bill and he was awesome. I really enjoy his playing as well as his overall attitude about guitar and life in general.
